Chasing after You

Nick slept, a deep sleep. He could feel Dannon lying next to him, but in his sleep he was somewhere else. He felt the warmth of the hot sun on his back, and the cool breeze on his face. He saw her ahead of him. Slowly running away, every now and then looking back at him, a large smile on her face. Teasing him, telling him to come get her. Her brown hair glistened in the sun and the breeze whipped it behind her. The yellow sundress she wore danced around her knees and her bare feet pounded through the tall grass. She turned to look at him once more and sighed. He watched as she turned and fell on her back. He panicked, and ran to her. He searched around and couldn't find her. He started to run more, but he felt two soft hands around his ankles and he fell into the soft ground. He laughed as she rolled on top of him. Her soft legs rubbing against his. His light blue shirt gathered around his chest as she blew raspberries on his stomach, giggling as she watched him laugh. She lowered her lips to his and kissed him. The sun was so bright and she was there. It was paradise. They rose and began walking hand in hand in the grass. He looked down and saw that he was bare foot too, and there was a small anklet on his ankle. He looked to her feet and saw a small toe ring on her right foot. He looked up at her, and saw she was watching him. He had no idea the significance of the jewelry but knew there was something. She raised her hand to his face and rubbed his cheek softly. He smiled and watched as she laughed and ran ahead of him. A large weeping willow came into his view. Dannon began to play hide-and-go seek underneath the large branches. The leaves touching the ground, giving them a perfect piece of privacy. He knew that he needed to catch her, or the paradise would be gone. The dream had suddenly changed from peaceful to unnerving. She came out from under the tree and looked at him. A small smile graced her face and she held her hands out to him. He ran to her, felt their bodies crash into one another, and he reveled in the fact that her lips were pressed just as urgently to his as his were to hers.
