Boyfriends & Birthdays

Making their way across the States, the S Club drive into a small town after a long day's journey. They're not impressed with the town, but seeing as the next town is many miles down the road, they decide to stop there. Unfortunately, all of the hotels are either full, or too expensive, and so they find a campsite in an area called Paradise Beach.

When they arrive, they find it's a trailer park, with only one family as residents. The woman and her kids are so excited that someone else has come, that the S Club are guilted into staying. The band aren't very happy having to live in a trailer that's much too small for seven people, and having to dig a hole in the ground to go to the bathroom.

After settling in (or about as much as they could in these circumstances), the woman tells the band her unfortunate story about how she ended up living in the trailer park. Meanwhile, Rachel is having a problem with her boyfriend; he wants her to come back to England because she's been away from him for so long, and now she has a tough decision to make--should she go back to England and quit the band, or stay in America? Unfortunately for the S Club, she decides to go back to England, but she doesn't have the money for a plane ticket. The band help her out by pooling together their money, but it's not enough so they go busking in a nearby town and make the rest of the money.

After they see Rachel off at the train station, the band wonders how they're going to cope with not having her in the band anymore, but then discover that she's changed her mind about going back to England. The next day, Rachel phones her boyfriend to tell him her decision, and is very upset when he dumps her. The S Club try to comfort her, with Jon making the least effective attempt.

With Rachel back in the band and the money from the plane ticket refunded, Rachel, Tina, Hannah, Paul, Jon, and Bradley think about how they'll spend the money on themselves, but Jo's got a better idea. She wants to help out the family by fixing their truck and goes to a local car parts store and sets to work. Meanwhile, the others set about getting together a party for one of the kids named Jimmy-Bob. His dad isn't able to go to his party, so the S Club are determined to make up for it, and Tina plans to find some guys to bring to the party so that Rachel will forget about her ex-boyfriend.

While preparations for the party are underway, Jimmy-Bob goes missing, when his mom finally tells him that his dad isn't coming. After doing a massive search around the area, Rachel finds Jimmy-Bob all alone and safe near the beach. They confide in each other about how upset they've been, and go and have a good time at the party. Then Jo surprises the family with their newly fixed-up truck, and they are happy that they can finally leave and go off to California.

But before they do, the guy from the auto parts store delivers a piece missing from the truck to the trailer park. When Rachel sees him, she forgets all about her ex, and is a bit hesitant to leave this new guy behind, but of course, the S Club must continue on their way to Los Angeles.
