Take one top pop band, a spooky LA desert & you've got...

The S Files!

It was a stormy night on a lonely desert highway. The S Clubbers huddled together as their wind-whipped car shuddered down the freeway. Sudden blazes of lightning lit up the wilderness around them, each time making strange shadows seem to creep out of the darkness. Suddenly, there are cries of anguish as their faithful jalopy splutters to a halt. With all the Club huddled together against the storm, nerves on edge, conversation quickly turns to all things spooky and supernatural...

What's the most supernatural thing that's ever happened to you?

Hannah: "We stayed in a hotel the last time we came to LA and apparently it was haunted. I never saw anything though! Apparently the floor that we were on is the one where everything happens. Jo freaked out the most. That stuff doesn't really scare me 'cos I never saw any of it. If I saw it for myself then I would be a bit freaked, but if I hear things from other people then I am a bit dubious. People were saying, 'I can feel a chill' and that sort of thing. Then Jon was in the lift and he saw a shadow. It got to the stage where everyone wanted to move hotels."

Jon: "We were filming at this disused hospital the other day and we went downstairs to where the morgue used to be and there was this big long massive corridor. It was pitch black and this chair came out and started following us down the corridor. Then we got to the end and the fire hose started flapping and stuff."

Bradley: "There was this orange light at the end of the corridor as well so it was really freaky. You should have seen the look on Jo's face!"

Jon: "Yeah, she went completely white and there were tears in her eyes. It did turn out that one of the guys from the film crew had rigged the whole thing though."

Paul: "I guess that was kinda supernatural 'cos some of them thought that it was true at the time."

Bradley: "When I was little we had horses and the stables were right out in the field, and me and my dad were waiting in the car for my sister. We looked up and we saw this light in the sky and it was moving all over the place on funny angles and stuff. It could have been a plane or a helicopter but then again it could have been an alien. (putting on his spookiest voice) But nobody knows!"

Jo: "When I was about eight or nine I used to have this recurring dream for about two years. It was about this guy that would drown me in the bath or throw me off the edge of a cliff. A few years later I was in a talent competition and I looked across the room and the guy from my dreams was actually sitting there staring at me! I was 13. He came over to me and said into my ear, 'You know who I am don't you...' I was dead scared!"

Rachel: "I've never really had that many freaky experiences. I do get a lot of deja vu though!"

Have you ever seen an alien?

Hannah: "No, but in LA there definitely could be a few 'cos it's so full of weirdos, heh-heh!"

Tina: "Yeah, maybe when I was down at Venice Beach once, 'cos there are all sorts of wild people down there!"

If it was revealed that one popstar was actually an alien in disguise who d'ya reckon it'd be?

Hannah: "Paul, 'cos he's a weirdo!"

Paul: "Jarvis Cocker!"

Jon: "It would have to be Michael Jackson 'cos he is a bit strange really."

Paul: "And his skin colour has changed!"

Tina: "I would say Michael Jackson too, but just 'cos he is so talented. No one in my lifetime has ever been better than him!"

Jo: "I agree with Hannah. Paul might be an alien 'cos he's weird!"

Rachel: "I reckon Lance from 'N Sync might be! Why? 'Cos he has really big eyes. Actually, I don't know why!"

What would you say to a ghost?

Hannah: "You would probably need to keep your calm. It's hard to say 'cos I have never come across one. I'd hardly go, 'Yeah, are you alright mate?' I'd just try to keep my cool and walk in the other direction!"

Bradley: "'Do you want a cup of coffee?' Ha-ha!"

Jon: "I've always had this thing where I have really, really wanted to see a ghost and in theory I would like to talk to it about really deep things, and where it's from etc. In practice I would probably cack myself and run! Heh-heh!"

Bradley: "Sometimes when I'm in my room and it's dark and I hear a noise and think that it could be a ghost, I talk to myself like I'm talking to someone else. It might sound freaky but I just kinda say, 'I know you're here and you don't bother me, but just don't watch me get dressed.'"(laughs)

Tina: "I'd probably just ask the ghost what they wanted."

Jo: "'Arrrgggh!'"

Rachel: "I'd say nothing to them. I'd just scream and run. Or just freeze dead!"

What would it take for you to stay in a haunted house overnight?

Paul: "A lot of money."

Jon: "I would stay there if I was with loads of people and we were having like a house party or something--to see what would happen."

Tina: "I'd only stay in a haunted house for the night if I had a load of mates there too!"

Jo: "I wouldn't do it, no matter what! If I knew that the house was haunted I just wouldn't do it."

Rachel: "Well, I get excited about the thought of getting scared, like watching scary movies. But the thing with watching movies is that you know nothing is going to happen. If I knew that a house was haunted I definitely wouldn't stay there!"

Who would be the S Clubber most likely to have a supernatural experience?

Hannah: "Going back to the hotel we stayed in where stuff was happening, it was Jo that freaked out the most."

All the boys: "Jo!!!"

Jon: "Yeah, but it wouldn't really be a supernatural experience it would just be something that was in her head and that she had completely read into far too deeply. Rachel does it as well. Last time we were staying in LA in that hotel I got a call from her and she said, 'Jon you have got to come over 'cos my toilet is full of blood.' I went legging it over there and she goes 'Oh yeah, I'm sorry, I poured Coke in there.' D'oh."

Jo: "It would have to be me. I am very open to that sort of thing. My nan was a psychic and my mum is quite psychic and I get it from them."

Why do you think Americans see more flying saucers than anyone else?

Bradley: "'Cos they all lie, heh-heh!"

Paul: "There are more of them and it's a bigger country. They have also got more time on their hands than other people. Then there is also that Area 51 where all that alien stuff is s'posed to go on."

Jon: "Yeah, and they have so many open spaces and stuff as well."

Rachel: "It's 'cos they have got over-active imaginations! America is bigger though! There are weird places in America too, like mountains and forests and those sort of things."

When the aliens come and you are asked to play for them, what song would you like to play?

Hannah: "Reach for the Stars, I think that says it all!"

Tina: "The most appropriate one would probably be I'm Gonna Change The World I reckon."

Jo: "I reckon we'd play Natural 'cos it would be natural to be friends with the scary monster aliens."

Rachel: "I think we should play S Club Party 'cos we would have a party with them."

If you all looked into a crystal ball, what do you reckon it would say about S Club's future?

Hannah: "It's gonna end tomorrow! No, I'm only joking! It'd maybe say that we'll have a few more songs and a few more TV shows here and there, hopefully."

Jon: "I think it would remain blank! Just joking!"

Bradley: "Hopefully it would say that we are going to do really well but who knows?"

Tina: "Hopefully it would be just good stuff."

Jo: "You can't predict it through a ball. I don't believe in balls!"

Where does the bogey man live?

Hannah: "Up my nose! (laughs) Or up Jon's bottom!" (laughs)

Tina: "I was never scared of the bogey man when I was a kid, so I don't know. When I was younger I was scared of Darth Vader from Star Wars movies! I saw the film and then we were at a toy shop and there was someone dressed just like Darth Vader. I was so scared that I almost wet myself."

Jo: "He lives under a bridge!"

Rachel: "I reckon he lives in a cave! A really dark cave. I actually did think when I was younger that there was a bogey man under the bed. I watched a movie called Friday the 13th and in one bit there is someone hiding under a bed. After that I looked under my bed every time!"

What do aliens look like?

Hannah: "They are little green men with little skinny arms and little bobble antennas on top. They also have huge black eyes and no eyelashes or eyebrows. They would just be sorta flawless."

Jon: "I don't think they look anything like people think that they do."

Paul: "I definitely don't think that they are green. I bet they look a lot more human than people think."

Jon: "I bet they aren't even formed like us. They could be just gas or little animal type things."

Bradley: "When I think about 'em I always think that they look like big egg-heads with big eyes and little mouths."

Paul: "The ones they show on TV are the ones you picture. But I am open to them looking like anything. They could be like little cockroaches."

Bradley: "Yeah, or they could have a little device with them and be invisible!"

Tina: "I don't know what they'd look like but there are plenty of people in my life that probably are actually aliens."

Jo: "They look like Daleks (monsters from oldie sci-fi show Doctor Who)!"

Rachel: "I reckon they would be really tall and skinny with big heads. They'd have to be like a grey colour. Kind of humanlike, in an alien kinda way."

When was the last time that you were really scared?

Hannah: (Hannah screams as someone grabs her from behind) "Just then actually, heh-heh! It was a bit scary in the hospital the other day. I kinda like all that stuff but I didn't want to go down there unless I had to."

Bradley: "The last time that I was really scared was when we were in Japan and we had a plane flight from a smaller town to Tokyo. It was a scary flight 'cos it was really shaky and at one point I could see the front of the plane from where I was sitting, 'cos it had dipped down so much. I was proper scared. Inside I was scared. Everyone else was asleep except for me and Rachel and I was just turning to her and telling her that it was going to be alright 'cos she gets scared by things like that."

Paul: "I was driving along at home recently and I accidentally ran over a rabbit or something. It gave me a real fright and I ws gutted for the poor tiny little animal."

Tina: "It was the hospital time! I tried to be cool about it but I was scared!"

Rachel: "I was really, really scared at the hospital the other day. I was shaking and stuff..."

S Club Scaredy Cats!

Hannah: "I don't have any phobias, so I'm probably most scared of something like early mornings 'cos we have loads of those. The earliest we ever had was 2:30AM. It was like 'When do you go to bed?!'"

Brad: "Spiders, that's the only thing that proper scares me. Eugh!"

Paul: "I am not scared of many things and I'm not scared of spiders, but I do hate the really big hairy ones."

Jon: "I hate small spaces. I just can't cope with them."

Tina: "I know this is a bit weird but I'm really scared of ending up a lonely old maid in the future."

Jo: "Bugs! Spiders are the worst!"

Rachel: "I really don't go well in confined spaces. I get majorly claustrophobic."

S Club Superstitions!

Hannah: "I do the monkey tree one. Where you can't talk when you go past a monkey tree!"

Paul: "I don't have any! I'm not superstitious at all, but one time I did walk under a ladder and there was a guy painting right at the top. He saw me do it so he smacked his brush on the top of his ladder to make a really loud bang. I really jumped, and he just looked at me and said, 'Don't walk under ladders my son!'"

Brad: "I do all those superstition-y type things like not walking under ladders and saluting magpies. I never walk over two drains or anything."(!?)

Jon: "I walk under road signs holding my collar." (!?!)

Jo: "I wave at Royal Mail vans." (!?!?)

Rachel: "I do all of the normal things, especially touching wood and that sort of thing." (We're actually a bit worried about this lot now!)
