The HC Cheer team is made up of 26 girls this year. They'll cheer Jr/Sr Football, Jr/Sr Basketball, Some Rugby and Some Lacrosse. The competitive squad is usually made up of 16 girls - but this year we might compete Novice Co-Ed with 4 guys (If any guys are interested - LET ME KNOW!)
Football season 2002 was a lot of fun. Our JR guys made it to the Semi-Finals and our SR guys made it to the finals against ND. It rained, it snowed, it hailed - but we were always pumped to be cheering our guys on. Memorable Moments: Me falling during Action, The Football Dinner, Cheer Dare at ND and "I got a secret for ya..." "Snnnif".
Basketball Season 2002/2003 was a lot of fun too. We cheered all the home games and about half of the away games. Our JR and SR guys were CITY CHAMPS. We had a lot of fun at the Jami Fiocca Tournament. Memorable Moments: The Serbians, Dan H (My second dad), The net being stolen and ANCASTER!(WOO!)
We didn't get to cheer much lacrosse or rugby this year since tryouts were being held at that time. But we did do a lacrosse pep rally and got a lot of crowd response. Memorable Moments: "Do you have your spankies?" "I just don't know anymore!", Glitter time, Nad'z wicked hairdo on me.
Competition season was awesome this year. We started training at our Home Camp in August, practiced twice a week until December, for our first competition: Festival Of Lights. We won 1st place in Canadian Cheer, 1st place in Canadian music and 3rd in the International Division. I also won the Outstanding Cheerleader award. Memorable Moment: Kicking Myer Ass.
The next weekend we went to Oakville for the White Oaks competition. We won 1st place in the Novice Varsity Division and placed third overall.Memorable Moments: Seeing the Vipers preform for the first time, meeting Leeroy and (then) Keith and winning Teeshirts (Division Champs!).
After White Oaks, we got a new coach, Andy Cechinni, who works with Milton District. He's one of the best coaches in Canada. So he helped us fix up our routine for Regionals at Brock. We got 2nd place in Small Varsity. We missed 1st place by 8 points. Memorable Moments: Not getting a trophy, I believe that we can win, I will survive and (sorry for...) not talking to any of you after we lost.
Our last competition of the year was Provincials in Kitchener Ontario. It's the biggest competition of the year - also the toughest. We had a pretty good weekend competition wise and got 4th in Small Varsity to teams like Sherwood and Bayridge (Who rock!). Memorable Moments: Hitting my extended stretch for the first time, Mall Madness, meeting JON!, falling in finals and seeing T.A.B cry (Made me feel so bad for them.)
