Phoenix KOP Fanatics Talk to LaToya!

I'm VERY happy & proud to announce that I was able to speak to LaToya last night (March 4, 2003) on Larry King Live. For those of you who don't know, during the show they take callers questions, live! You can't say too much, no name, but they do allow you to say hello and chit chat for a few seconds. (lol) LaToya also hinted that Michael was watching the interview, and not only but I was on RIGHT AFTER Joseph called in! :)
Anyway, LaToya was beautiful last night and I can honestly say I was very impressed by how much she's changed. Here is my part of the transcript:

KING: OK. All right. To Phoenix, Arizona, hello.

CALLER: Hi, La Toya. I am so happy to see you doing well again and I love your whole family. I'm part of the King of Pop fanatics. And I just want to -- my question was -- I was kind of interested if you were always interested in music and if you weren't a recording artist what other career would you have possibly pursued?

L. JACKSON: You know what? In the very beginning, I didn't want to get involved in music and it was my father who sort of put me into the group tap dancing and singing with my brothers, but -- and I loved it after that. I'm so happy he did it.

However, I think that I'd probably be into business law because I wanted to go to school and study that. But I'm happy I made the decision, actually. Well, my father did it for me.

Loose Cannon Blues Band/Interview Get Together
A few of us went to see the Loose cannon blues Band. As always they put on a GREAT show! We snacked on calamari (yummmm), and danced the night away. The following weekend, James and his sister, along with Lisa came over to my new apartment as we watched the interview, "Living with Michael Jackson" again. We had a great time. Only wish more members could have attended. I look forward to our next get together. Hope everyone had a good time! :)

Dinner& Videos

Well we were SUPPOSED to go bowling this past weekend. Everything was going fine, we get to the bowling lanes and they tell us first that it didn't start until 11 (which on the site it had said 10PM, then when I called they told me 10:30). Neway, so it's gonna start an hour late? No big deal. Everyone was there by that time so we figured we would just go outside and hang out for a while. An hour later they tell us that cosmic bowling is cancelled due to the State fair in town this weekend. GRRR!
We were all starving so we all went to Denny's to grab something to eat. We had a BLAST at dinner. Afterwards, Ben and his friend had to jet since they had work the next morning. The rest of us went to Katie's and watched the infamous "Making of Stranger in Moscow" and some other stuff. I think that's THE sexiest footage of Michael. WOW! We ended the night (or mornin) around 3. Even though bowling had been cancelled we still had a great time. Sorry no pics were taken. However we got a free bowling pass for next time. Thanks to all those that were able to attend!! 'Till next time...

Our Trip to Neverland Valley Ranch!!
This past Labor Day we held an unprecidented birthday party for Michael near Neverland in California after spending an ENTIRE day inside the ranch (thanks to Michael, himself :),to celebrate his 44th Birthday and our 3 year anniversary. Myself and Lisa (member of our group) made a quilt for Michael from the Phoenix King of Pop Fanatics and hand delivered it to Neverland. :) We had origininally planned to just have the birthday party near Neverland at the infamous Federico's Mexican Restaurant, where we've held it for the past 3 years in a row. However, just 2 days before we were leaving for California, we were informed that we were actually invited INSIDE by Michael for the day!! Unfortunately, due to confidentiality agreements we signed I'm unable to describe, or say much more about our day other then it was one of the BEST days' of our lives!!!! hehe Michael was not home, however we still had a WONDERFUL day! Although I would have DIED and very much LOVED to have had him there with us, I'm glad he wasn't, that way we could truly enjoy Neverland, and all it has to offer. Thank you Michael for a TRULY MAGICAL day I will never, ever forget! :)

Sum of this past years' events
This past year has been great. We had 3 main events that members travelled to. All started with Janet's "All 4 You" tour stop in Phoenix last October. A week later 3 of us travelled to Vegas to catch the show again at the MGM Grand, where we happen to run into Rebbie, LaToya, Taj (from 3T) and Randy!! Then of course, who could miss out on the RELEASE of "Invincible"! Michael's 6th solo studio album. :) I ended up traveling to LA to campout at Tower Records on Sunset Blvd. with the rest of the LA KOP gang. :) The holidays were pretty quite, relaxing time for the group. The next event wasn't until the 50th Anniversary of American Bandstand which we were given VIP tickets to from Michael! :) The show was taped in Pasadena this past April. Michael performed his infamous dance routine to the song "Dangerous". The show aired on ABC a few weeks after. Following that all of the fanclubs worldwide came together in support of Michael for the campaign he launched against Sony. The clubs organized a protest that was held in NYC this past July 6th. Unfortunately, I was the only one from Phoenix who could afford the trip to NYC however I delivered hand made posters to Michael from some of our Phoenix members. Thank you to all of our members, and their support. :)

Valentine's Dinner Party
I want to thank everyone who attended our Valentine's dinner party. It was soo nice seeing everyone after so long. We got together for some good ol' italian food, and rare MJ videos. Of course the night didn't end without some dancing machines. hee, hee. Hope to see more of you next time!

California Pizza Kitchen

Our first official get together! Myself, along with Katie, Ben, and Jack met at a local pizzaria in Phoenix. Although it was only 4 of us we still had a blast! After lunch we went shopping around Biltmore, and drove around the beautiful mansions of Biltmore. Hope they didn't mind us blasting MJ! That was funny, driving through the golf course blasting Janet & Michael. hee, hee.
Thanks to those of you who came on Saturday. Jack, it was very nice meeting you! We're going to have a great time this year! Hopefully everyone can make it to our next event. =)

Janet's All For You Tour!

Thankfully we lucked out this weekend. Fanatics member, Ben Anderson and I camped out for Janet tickets on Saturday and luckily got section D, row 2 on the floor! Not quite front row but hey it'll do! AHHH! Now that that stress is over we can concentrate on Michael tickets for NY!

Janet Listening Party @ Tower Records

Last Sunday, myself along with Katie and her close friend-new member Ben Anderson, met at Tower Records in Mesa to celebrate Janet's new album release. Tower was hosting a sneak preview listening party, which basically meant that they would just play the album while you shopped. We were hoping they would have punch, maybe a place to sit. hee,hee It's all good though, we had fun. It's truly a great album, of course many will disagree that Velvet Rope was better. I think it's a perfect appetizer of what's to come. =)
After it ended we hopped over to Carl's Jr for a quick bite to eat. Although we were a bit rushed, Katie and I had to race off to work, while Ben had to get back to Flagstaff for school the next day.
We had a great time! Ben, it was nice meeting you and welcome to the club! Thanks for getting the word out in Flagstaff! Until next time...
