Ronnie, Church and Tex ran down the beach trying to escape the hostile forces chasing them. Someone had tripped an alarm in the complex they had been sent to infiltrate and now they were running for their lives
the pursuing guards were were shooting at them and church momentarily stopped and turned firing his pistol back at them. after firing several shots and dropping two of the guards, he turned and continued to run. They were nearing the boat they ha used to get to island. then Church heard Tex scream, and though it was hard to see through the darkness, he saw her fall.
"Tex are you ok?" Church asked kneeling next to her
"no. those bastards shot me." she said barely above a whisper
