Back Into The Habit
He heard something in his bathroom. A giggle. He dare not open the door. He knew what it was. He waited outside the bathroom door. An hour passed, he heard it all.

“Jason, you are so much better than Nick” Came Bernice’s voice.

“When are you gonna tell that loser?” the man asked.

“When I get more of his money. I’m gonna milk him for what it’s worth.” She replied.

Crash.

Nick’s mind was racing. Cheater. Liar. Scum. No more. He opened the door and heard Bernice gasp. In the tub, his tub, were Bernice and a man. The man was Jason, Bernice’s supposed cousin. Guess she lied.

“Is this incest or just Jerry Springer type fun? Or is it the same thing in your case?” He asked. Bernice stuttered. “I’ll make that assumption myself. Out of my house, both of you.” Nick opened the second story window, located their clothing and threw it in his backyard pool. “Now you leave.” Nick left the room and went downstairs to open the front door as the two left the house covering themselves. He closed the door behind them and turned on the security system so they couldn’t get the clothes.

So, she’s been cheating. She has been using me. Typical. He took out a small box from his back pocket, opened it and stared at the card.

Bernice, I’m so glad you are mine. I love you more than life itself. Would you move in with me? Nick

He slipped the key out from behind the card and shoved it in a kitchen drawer. He then proceeded to take out his lighter over the sink and burn the card.

H reached in his pocket again, got out his car keys and hopped in his Escalade. Time to go pick something up. The car pulled up to a corner. “The Blvd.” He locked his car and walked in to the dingy club.

“Yo, Nick. Haven’t seen you in a while. What’s going on bud?” Mark, the owner said.

“Let’s get right to the point. Who has E in this club?”

“Nick, buddy, I can’t tell you that. We don’t want you to hurt yourself like last time.”

“Who has the ecstasy?” He asked again.

“Don’t you think E is a little harsh for you man?”

“No E? Show me someone with pot.” He pointed to a man on the couch past the dance floor.

“Pleasure doing business with you, Mark.” He walked over to the man.

“I need some pot.”

“You got the dough? Cash only” He asked.

Shit, I don’t have cash. Nick pulled out his wallet. He had 56 dollars. He handed it to the man.

“Give me however much this is worth.”

The man handed him a bag with barely enough weed for one paper. Nick didn’t feel like arguing.

“Thanks.” Nick said and walked off.

Nick got up to the DJ. Nick didn’t have any papers. He asked the DJ. The DJ gave him some. He was pretty reliable. Nick thanked him and walked to the bathroom to enjoy his fortune. The door opened, he continued smoking. Until he saw who it was.

“What are you doing?” It was Jack, his friend.

“What, cant a guy smoke a joint once and a while?” Nick asked.

Jack pulled the joint from his hand and flushed it down the toilet. He grabbed Nick’s arm and twisted it behind his back. He spoke loudly and clearly into his ear.

“You stopped this Nick. You said you wouldn’t do this anymore. You are going to rehab. You are going into rehab tomorrow morning. Until then, you are staying with me. This is the last time, and this time i mean it.”

“Dude, Jack, pot isn’t as bad as E.”

“Yeah, but its still pot, and you are still going to rehab.”
