Chapter 3

Chapter 3
I sat in the chair, while the woman that dragged me from Nick and
Howie, did
my make-up.
"The director said that he wants you to have a spunky,
young, playful look
since you will be with Nick" she told me.
"Ok" I said, not knowing how else to respond.
"I thought maybe I would put some purple mascara on with a
hip shade of eye
shadow that will match whatever color shirt your going to be
wearing."
"That sounds awesome!" I said.
While I was sitting there I got the perfect view of Nick. I just
watched
him, since Brian was no where in sight. It was quite amusing to
watch Nick
actually. The stylist brought out a purple silk shirt with purple
boots to
match. Must have been the ugliest thing I have ever seen, and I
couldn't
help but think that it was my luck that Nick would have to wear
something
like that for the video I am in with him. Nick interrupted those
thoughts
when he told the stylist in a friendly, yet stern voice so she
would realize
he was serious, "I can't wear this! I will look like
freakin' Barney the
dinosaur!"
"Alright Nick, we can figure something out. For now, though,
can you atleast
try it on?"
Nick looked at her with the funniest face and it made me burst
into
laughter. In fact, I was laughing so loud Nick glanced over at
me. Man, was
I embarrassed!
He grinned at me and turned back around to the stylist.
Nick took the hideous outfit from the stylist's hands unwillingly
and went
to try the Barney looking outfit on. When he walked back out I
could hear
him tell her, "Hell no, I am NOT wearing this!"
I giggled at Nick's reaction to his silly outfit, and I didn't
even realize
my make-up artist could hear.
"Is that your favorite one?" she asked me.
"Favorite one?"
"Yeah, your favorite Backstreet Boy? That's who they are,
aren't they?"
“Ohh! Oh wait… you mean him?" I said, pointing to
Nick.
"Yeah him."
"Oh no. My favorite is Brian actually."
"Oh really? Sure seems like you’re pretty fond of the
blondie over there,”
she said, referring to Nick.
“Or atleast it looks like he is fond of you by that grin he
gave you." she
continued to say.
"Huh? Nah I don't think so. Besides I just met him a few
minutes ago." I
said, wondering what kind of drug this lady was on anyway, for
thinking
that.
"Whatever you say, honey," she said.
I was finally done with my make-up and got my outfit to wear, so
it was time
to do some shots with Nick. When I got to the green room where we
were going
to do some shots, I noticed Nick didn't have his purple outfit
on, thank
goodness.
"Hey!" Nick called over to me.
I walked over to him, and he quickly whispered into my ear,
"Ya know-no one
has to know about that outfit I tried on earlier." Nick told
me,
sarcastically.
"Don't worry, it will just be between me and you." I
told him, whispering
back into his ear.
We spent over an hour just taking shots after shots, but Nick
really made
things fun.
He would find the littlest thing funny, and it was so cute how he
couldn't
control his laughter. It was weird actually, because I
always found Nick's
uncontrollable laughter kind of...well.... annoying. But it
was different
now for some reason.
When our shots were finally done for the day, I noticed Brian
waiting on the
side for his turn to do his shots. I wasn't sure if I should go
up to him
again or not, but I thought it was either now or never again.
"Hey Brian."
"Hey. Uh...Summer right?"
"Yeah."
"So how are Nick and your shots coming along?" he asked
with the most
friendly tone.
"Pretty good. You know Nick, takes double the time to get
things done with
all of his laughing."
"Yeah. Ya gotta love that boy." Brian said.
I just stood there re-running that last comment Brian said about
Nick. ‘Ya
gotta love that boy'.
Yeah, I thought to myself, He really is loveable.
"Hey Bri," a girl said, wrapping her arms around Brian,
“Who is this?" she
asked.
"Oh this is Summer. She is working with Nick for the
video."
"Oh, hi Summer" the pretty blonde said to me, putting
her hand out.
I just stood there, shocked out of my mind, and heartbroken at
the sight of
this girl putting her hands on MY MAN! Ok so he wasn't mine yet,
but that's
what I was hoping for.
"Brian! Let's go...we need to get some of your shots done by
9!" yelled
someone in the background.
"Well I guess I better go. Bye Summer. Bye honey." he
said, giving Leighanne
a quick kiss.
I couldn't even say bye to Brian. I was too upset, knowing
I truly never
had a chance with Brian now. As I stood there, I heard Nick call
my name.
"Summer!" he called.
I turned to look at him, and before Nick said anything else, he
asked me
what was wrong.
"Nothing." A responded a little bitterly.
"You sure?"
"Yeah. I’m just tired.”
"Oh I was just going to ask you to go get a bite to eat with
me, but if you
are tired, I understa....."
I quickly cut Nick off. "Oh Nick that is really nice
of you. No I will go
with you." I told him. I mean I can’t just sit
around sulking about Brian
having a girlfriend. Besides, Nick was kind of getting
cuter each time I
looked at him.
I grabbed my bag from the chair I put it on and we left.
