NEWS, May 7, 2001 ~~~~~ Marc Anthony, Lionel Richie, Aaron Carter, Backstreet Boys, Howie Dorough, A.J. McLean, and Nick Carter; Jon Secada, Deborah Gibson, Carole King, country singer John Sines Jr., Barry Williams (Brandy Bunch), Pollyanna Dorough (Howie's sister), and Chelsea Herring (Howie's niece) are among the artists confirmed to perform at Lupus 2001, a charity fundraiser to benefit the Dorough Lupus Foundation, according to a spokesperson for the organization. The concert will be held on June 1 at the Hard Rock Live at Universal Studio's City Walk in Orlando, Florida. The following day (June 2), a dinner, silent auction, a private show with Shamu the killer whale, and private live concert with Howie Dorough and his band will take place at nearby Sea World. The auction will include items donated by celebrities, recording stars, athletes, and fashion designers. Artists invited to perform at Lupus 2001 who were still unconfirmed as of press time include country star Martina McBride, Creed, Tyrese, R. Kelly, "Weird Al" Yankovic, and comedian Jeff Foxworthy, among others. The Dorough Lupus Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Howie Dorough and his family shortly after his sister died of the disease in 1998. The foundation raises money for Lupus research, education, and financial assistance for individuals living with Lupus who cannot afford treatment. Tickets for the June 1 concert are $175 and tickets for the June 2 dinner and auction are $150. If you wish to attend both events, combination tickets are discounted to $300. Tickets for Lupus 2001 will be made available online through ticketmaster. The videoclip for "More Than That" will be directed by Marcus Raboy, who has also directed videos for Dream and Carl Thomas. (mentioned by Zomba Asia) ~~~~~~~~~~~~NEWS, April 8, 2001 ~~~~~ New BSB tourdates have been announced. They will be touring in South America in May and then from June till the end of August they will do a summer tour in the US and Canada. (Go to Tourdates section to see the details.) After that they will tour Asia and Europe, however no details have been announced yet. ~~~ The Backstreet Boys and Nick's brother Aaron will perform at this years Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards (April 21). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ NEWS, March 16, 2001 ~~~~~ Yahoo! will have a live webcast of the Backstreet Boys' final stop of their Black & Blue tour in Mexico City's Foro Sol Stadium. The webcast will only be available as a live performance, and begins at 8:30pm ET on Friday, March 23. Fans can access the free live internet broadcast at http://backstreetboys.yahoo.com. This is the BSB's final stop of the first leg of their two-mouth, 24-city tour.
