Jives History
-from his UK sie http://www.jivejones.co.uk

A small-town boy, JIVEjones was born and raised in South Florida. At 17 years old, after an awkward childhood and determined to get out of "suburban hell" he packed a bag and left home. Miami Beach was calling him. He immersed himself in the Miami club scene and while enjoying the city's wild nightlife he found himself surrounded by local artists and it was then that he began writing and producing music. After working on a few small projects, JIVEjones had enough money to head north and follow his dream to New York City. He continued to work on his music and through very intense self-teaching he learnt to play several instruments. It was not long before artists and record company execs alike began to sniff out his tracks; the words 'hit song' were written all over them but unfortunately he needed to sell them so that he could stay afloat in the big city. "I found a little niche," JIVEjones says, "so I started writing and producing for other artists and that way I could put money into my own project - I couldn't afford not to."

One of those tracks was the smash hit song "Candy" sung by Mandy Moore and his diverse appeal garnered attention from a wide range of artists for whom he wrote and produced tracks. These included songs for Anastacia ("Cowboys and Kisses" & "Wishing Well"), PM Dawn ("Still"), Biohazard ("Last Man Standing"), Rachid ("Shining Star" & "Sweet Charity"). It was at those same meetings with record company executives that JIVEjones' own star presence became so obvious. He quickly created a buzz within the industry, and the major players came knocking. In the end, it was Jive Records (home to Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, NYSNC, Steps, R.Kelly, Joe, Mystikal, Petey Pablo, Groove Armada & Jason Downs) that seemed like the perfect home for his fresh creativity and energetic style.
