The Plague of Polly
Written by Torrie DeMore
Polly the petite palomino pony,
was the pride of Plateau Pasture Ranch.
Polly was the portrait of palomino perfection,
portraying performance as well as being pretty.
The pony practically won every pageant
Polly performed at.
She picked her way up perilous paths
perched on Pacific peaks.
One pitiful day, Polly the palomino pony panicked
when she pranced up the most perilous path,
almost plummeting into the Pacific below.
Paul, a passing piebald palfrey,
heard Polly's panicked pleading for help.
Pushing into an impossible pace,
Paul plucked Polly from peril.
Paul was put in parades.
The piebald palfrey was the paladin.
Now Paul was the priority at
Plateau Pasture Ranch
and Polly was purchased by a poacher
from Paraguay to perfect her abilities
as a pack horse.
