End This Misery
Written by Torrie DeMore on August 9, 2004

I look at you
-you look away.
You look at me
-I look away.
When did it become
so hard to look
you in the eye?
What are we afraid of?
What are we hiding from?

And I know it's hard.
I have the same goose bumps,
the same lump in my throat,
my palms are sweating,
my knees are shaking.
One of us better say the words
and put an end to this misery.

I look at you
-you look at me.
Hey, we're getting better at this.
Just the slightest glace
and you send me flying.
I can't let you know what
you do to me.
So when you meet my gaze,
I look away.

And I know it's hard.
I have the same goose bumps,
the same lump in my throat,
my palms are sweating,
my knees are shaking.
One of us better say the words
and put an end to this misery.

If only you knew
how crazy I am about you.
Then you'd understand
why I'm so insecure.
If only I knew
whether you're crazy about me, too.
Someone needs to speak up.

And I know it's hard.
I have the same goose bumps,
the same lump in my throat,
my palms are sweating,
my knees are shaking.
One of us better say the words
and put an end to this misery.
