Nick Surprises Aaron - By News Team Member Phatlady. Entertainment Tonight had a feature several days ago of Nick surprising his little brother Aaron in Ottawa where the younger Carter was having his last concert.
Julie Mora: "Two weeks from tonight the Backstreet Boys start their 39-city sold out tour in Fort Lauderdale. But first, one of the Boys went to Canada for an emotional surprise."
Nick: "I'm getting ready to see my brother perform tonight but the trick is that he doesn't know I'm here."
Julie Moran: "Backstreet Boy Nick Carter jetted to Ottawa to catch little brother Aaron's final concert date last Sunday."
[Hidden in the sidelines was Nick, pretending he wasn't or couldn't make it there, speaking into a microphone....]
Nick: "Hey, little buddy. This is Nick..."
[Later] Aaron: "I was stunned. I couldn't speak..."
Nick: "I just wanted to tell you that I love you and I'm sorry I couldn't be here..."
[As Nick climbs the steps to the stage where Aaron was singing a song, his little sister, Angel [Aaron's twin], holding his hand...]
Julie Moran: "What the 11-year-old up and coming singer didn't know was that his busy, superstar brother was waiting in the wings. Mom and Dad had told him [Aaron] the surprise guest would be Celine Dion. And our ET cameras caught all the action exclusively."
[Nick approaches Aaron, who looks up from sitting in his chair and they hug emotionally, Aaron burying his head against Nick's shoulder and chest, his eyes damp with tears. Nick kisses Aaron several times on the head, still hugging tightly.]
Nick: "I haven't seen him in a long time. It's been about 6 or 7 months that I've seen him."
[Back onstage after hugging his brother...]
Nick: "Hello, Ottawa! I decided to make a guest appearance for my brother. Now I'm gonna take a little seat on the side of the stage and I'm gonna watch my little brother tear up the rest of the show. And ya'll better be really loud!"
[Then behind the scenes of the show-Nick sitting beside his dad, then playful with Aaron, a quick clip of Brian and Nick together, then Nick putting an Afro wig on Aaron beside him on a couch...]
Julie: " Earlier backstage ET found out just how committed Nick is to his little brother. He and fellow Backstreet Boys Brian Littrell co-wrote a song for Aaron to perform and even had him open for the band's U.S. tour and it didn't take the elder Carter to join Aaron onstage [Nick dances onstage with an afro wig as Aaron encourages him..."
Aaron: "You could do it!"
[Backstage together, Nick beside his mom, Aaron, and dad...]
Julie Moran: "Next for the singing siblings is a family style rest and relaxation. "
Jane Carter (Nick's Mom): "...a little time off together though...at home in L.A...."
Bob Carter (Nick's Dad): "Yeah...we're goin' shark fishing..."
Aaron: "Yeah...Nick'll help me fish..."
Jane Carter: "...take Nick to Catalina Island..."
[Last clip shown of Aaron and Nick hugging onstage, Aaron with a tearful expression on his face...]
Julie: "Aw, that's great. And besides being busy with the Backstreet's success, the other reason why Nick hasn't seen his family much later is because he still lives in Tampa, Florida while everyone else has moved to LA"
