    Artist Of The Month

    Nuno Bettencourt

Former Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt has been up to quite a bit since the bands demise in 1996. He released his solo debut Schizophonic in 1997 and followed that up in 1998 with the self-titled debut album from his new band Mourning Widows. They released another album called Furnished Souls For Rent in 2000 and after touring for a year they called it quits in 2002, as Nuno embarked on a new project called Population 1. That album was released in Japan last year, and a U.S. release is planned for late 2003.

Nuno Bettencourt has also worked with other artists, including a surprising collaboration with BBMak on a song called "Runaway", which can be found on their 2002 release Into Your Head. As of right now Nuno is not signed to a record label in the U.S. and his albums can be hard to find, but it's worth the effort to find them.
