How times change! But whether this change is for the better, I may not find out until next year at the latest and in about 2 days at the earliest. When did it start? Probably last week. Right now my head is messed up. Was he being polite trying not to hurt my feelings or did he mean what I thought he meant? well, I'm geting ahead of my story...
I work 6-9.30 on an evening. I'm the only one who works on my department, but there's the night crew and Kevin, who works on Ambient. The night crew go on the shop floor and by that time I'm in the warehouse where Kevin works until 9. Sometime the night crew get annoyed by having to keep opening the door to let us out after we finish our shift.
One Saturdday, I finished 2 hours earler than I was supposed to. That day (14th October) I worked 12.30 until 9.30. I hung around with Kevin and Sean until 9 o'clock when their shift was over. Now, someone told Kevin I had left, so he did too, but I was sat in the canteen. When I saw him on the Monday, he asked me what time I actually left and I told him 9.30. "If I'd have known that I would've stayed! That's sad you being left alone..."
As time went on, I was on time... Until last week. Sean left on time, but Kevin came and sat with me in the canteen. This became a regular occurence all week. We talked about a lot of stuff. One topic was relationships. He said he was waiting for the right girl, and he didn't want to get into anything until he came back from Australia.
Monday 6th November... Seemed like the previous week, but for Kevin it was VERY different! He worked an incredible 16 hours on Sunday, finishing 9am the next morning. He went home and some sleep and was back in for his usual shift. I had finished early and was being his shadow.
"I need you to keep me going! Motivation!" He said
It turned 9 o'clock and I told him I was going to sit in the canteen and he was going to go hom, watch his programme and then go to sleep! He ignored my orders and sat with me in the canteen for half an hour, despite being almost dead! I realised how sweet he was... And I also realised I had a crush on him! Far from his funny 'episodes' when I started the job, such as me being a controller for the day and Kevin waving some Homepride cooking sauce in my face. I knew a lot more than the "normal guy, must be about 19 or 20" from a few months previously... He was in fact 17!
Now, I wouldn't really call it my big mistake. It gave me confidence, and that was telling Liam. This must've been on the Wednesday, when I was rushing around the meat aisle saying "I've gotta get this done!!" (So I could go to the canteen for a chat) Liam was a little bit concerned and asked me what was wrong. Looked at him wearily but refused because he'd laugh. He promised, so I told him...
"KEVIN!?! BUAHAHAHAHA!"
"I told you!!"
"Sorry... *whispering* Kevin! *snigger*"
He would wind me up, telling me he'd tell him if I wouldn't
