In This World

(R. Matsuo)

In this world of so many people, so many are so alone.
Living closely in separate lives, all worked up with nowhere to go.

Let's not talk of the ones with promise, they have no one else to blame.
We won't speak of the ones with riches, they've got shelter from the rain.

There are those who just can't help it, they live their lives through somebody else.
A life they've given to change and blame, a life they should have for themselves

        Chorus
Take these lives, take these hands,
lead them back to hope again.
One more reason, one more try,
just to live before they die.

For their obligation of nine to five, they get to retire too old.
‘Cause if life begins at sixty-five, what happened to the last sixty-four?

We believe in the few that reason, they will do what they should,
But what's good for one is not in common with what they say is common good.

This world is made for the beautiful people, and we should do like they do.
But not for those that fit in as part of the plan, of being of the chosen few.

        Chorus
