(:•):~~How to Brighten Someone's Day~~(:•):

(Submitted by Gail Plummer)

:)Greet every one with a smile. And a quick Hi or hello or a nod of the head.

:) When you are in the parking lot and are looking around to make sure no one is about to steal your newly gotten treasures, look around you for someone that needs help as well.
      I can't tell you the times that I have seen an elderly person pushing her heavy laden cart back up to the store because she can't remember where she has parked her car. We stop what ever we are doing, even if it is pulling out of our parking spot and help. My son or I push the cart for them or hold it up front until they find their car.

:) Always hold the door open. The reactions I always get are shock and an embarrassed, "Why thank you dear. " Teach your kids the same. Mine actually fight over who gets to hold the door.

:) If someone is broke down, and you feel it is safe stop and at least roll your window down a crack and offer to call someone for them. (I do not have a cell phone, but I do drive to the nearest pay phone and call for them, then bring back the news and hot coffee (cold day) or water (hot day).

:) Give someone a smile, wink, or pat on the back "just because".

:) Know someone who's having a rough time? A hand-written note or card can make all the in the world!

:) Put an extra quarter in the parking meter.

:) Hold the elevator doors open for someone.

:) Let someone in front of you in line who has just a few items.

:) If you ever see a child doing something good or kind, go out of your way to thank him. Tell them what a great job, and loud enough for others to notice it too. The beaming face will reward you.

:) When it snows, shovel your walk way and your neighbors (think of the calories you are burning lol)

:) Hug someone who looks like they need it

:) Help your kids create a little gift and take to their teachers for a "just because" day.

:) Around holidays remember the forgotten people,the mail person, the meter reader, the gas station person, the bank teller, the bus driver, even your favorite barber/hairstylest.

:)When you see or hear an ambulance pass, pray for the person inside!

{Kindness and Courtesy can make this world such a better place to live for all of us!}
