IT CHANGES THE ONE WHO PRAYS, AND IT CHANGES THE ONE PRAYED FOR.

    And the Lord turned the captivity of Job,     when he prayed for his friends.  ~Job 42:10


  PRAYER DOES NOT CHANGE GOD, BUT CHANGES HIM WHO PRAYS.

    For I am the Lord, I do not change.  ~Malachi 3:6


  THE DEEPEST WISHES OF THE HEART FIND EXPRESSION IN SECRET PRAYER.

  PRAYER -- SECRET, FERVENT, BELIEVING PRAYER --     LIES AT THE ROOT OF ALL PERSONAL GODLINESS.

     Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.  ~Colossians 4:12


  PRAYER IS A SINCERE, SENSIBLE, AFFECTIONATE POURING OUT OF THE SOUL TO GOD.

     Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not      know what we should pray for as we ought . . .  ~Romans 8:26


  PRAYER IS NOT ELOQUENCE, BUT EARNESTNESS.

     The Lord looks down from heaven... to see if there are any who      understand, who seek God.  ~Psalm 14:2


  PRAYER IS ESSENTIALLY MAN STANDING BEFORE HIS GOD IN WONDER, AWE, AND HUMILITY; MAN, MADE IN THE IMAGE OF GOD, RESPONDING TO HIS MAKER.

     And God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him.  ~Genesis 1:27


  PRAYER IS THE BREATH OF THE SOUL, THE ORGAN BY WHICH WE RECEIVE CHRIST INTO OUR PARCHED AND WITHERED HEARTS.

    Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates,     waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoever finds me finds life,     and obtains favor from the Lord.  ~Proverbs 8:34,35
