†††~Getting To HEAVEN~†††

Jesus Christ spoke of two roads open to us: One is a broad road that leads to final destruction. On this broad road are many travelers, perhaps enjoying themselves, but thinking little about their destination. The other road is a straight, narrow pathway. The narrow way has fewer travelers, but it leads to God and eternal life.

How can you be sure which road you are really on? The answer can be found in the Bible.

In John 14:6, Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father but by me."

Jesus did not claim to show a way to God. He declared that he was the only way to God. "No one comes to the Father except through me", He said. In other words, Jesus claimed that He was the only way to a personal relationship with His Father, God. Jesus made another unique claim, "I am the Truth ...". In other words, Jesus was saying He was the only truth about the way to God. Also Jesus said, "I am the life ...". In 1 John 5:12 we read, "He that hath the Son hath life, and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life."

Eternal life is given only to those who believe that Christ died to pay the penalty for their sin and that He rose again from the dead.

Did you know that the Bible says that God has an inheritance waiting for you—the gift of everlasting life, but you have greatly offended Him by your sin?

You cannot receive the inheritance until you make peace with Him. If you are self-righteous, and think you are a "good" person and don't need to repent, ask yourself if you have ever "lusted" for another person?

God considers that to be adultery of the heart. Have you ever hated? The Bible says you have committed murder in your heart. Have you used God's name in vain? Then you are a blasphemer. Have you honored your parents, kept the Sabbath holy, always put God first, made a god to suit yourself (called idolatry) or been covetous (greedy)?

On Judgment Day, you will be found to be guilty.

Despite all of our sins, Jesus suffered on the cross for us. He took our punishment. We broke the Law, He paid our fine, rose from the dead and defeated the power of the grave.

All you have to do to receive the inheritance of everlasting life and avoid Hell is genuinely repent (apologize to God) and trust the Savior.
