{{{{--a sin is still a sin--}}}}

Moses discovered the hard way that location does not change the will of God; Christians can learn from this episode in the life of Moses that location does not alter the will of God.

For instance, the Bible teaches that immodesty is a sin (1 Tim. 2:9-10; 1 Pet. 3:1-6). Immodesty is not just sinful in town or at church. If immodesty is a sin (and it is), then it is sinful at the public pool or beach, too. God's law on immodesty (or anything else) is the same in the mountains, on the plains, in a coastal state, on a cruise ship or even in another country.

  Further, the Bible teaches that drinking alcohol is sinful (Prov. 23:29-35; Gal. 5:21). The pleasurable consumption of alcohol is not just a sin at the corner bar. If drinking alcohol is a sin (and it is), then it is sinful at social events, secretly at home and in Germany or Italy as well. God's law is the same everywhere, regardless of location.

  The Bible teaches that pornography is a sin (Matt. 5:28). Pornography is not just sinful in x-rated movies, book shops and topless or nude bars. If pornography is a sin (and it is), then it is sinful also to gaze at such magazines, TV, VCR, cable movies or computers even at home or listen to similar material on radio, cassettes or CDs. Christians must diligently practice everywhere religion!

  The Bible teaches that lying is a sin (Rev. 21:8). Lying is not only a sin when on a witness stand in a court of law. If lying is a sin (and it is), then it is sinful to lie to the IRS, at work or at home. We must practice everywhere religion!

  The Bible teaches that stealing is a sin (Eph. 4:28). Stealing is not just sinful when robbery occurs at gunpoint. If stealing is a sin (and it is), then it is sinful when one steals from God, his employer or the government. Everywhere religion!

  You get the idea; geographical location does not alter the will of God. Christians either faithfully practice everywhere religion or they do not faithfully practice Christianity! Oh, the personal sins and the reproaches brought upon the church because many Christians do not practice everywhere religion! May we ever guard ourselves from this error and encourage others to consistently practice Christianity, too.
