Is love so real as people say?
Or is love an escape? A getaway?
Is love at first sight really true?
Or are they just attracted to you?
Is love a touch or kiss on the hand?
Or is love more? Please help me understand.

Is love that feeling when your heart beats fast?
Or is it when without the person you couldn't last?
Is love when that word slips off your tongue?
Or is that when love has just begun?

If love is so real as people say,
Why do you get hurt almost right away?
Love is supposed to be real and pure.
But I don't know if it's real. I don't know for sure.
Because if love was pure, innocent and sweet,
You wouldn't fall out of love, another person you would not meet.
How could you say you loved me so true?
And how could I have ever believed you?
Maybe it's from your touch and your kiss.
That touch and kiss I already miss.
I fell in love once, it was really true.
I fell in love with a guy I thought loved me too.
If he loved me as I loved him so,
I would not be here left alone.

I guess I was wrong as I end this poem,
Love is not real, that's why I'm alone.
