Vivian didn’t know exactly where she was going, all she knew was that she had to get as far away from Abs as possible. She couldn’t go home because that’s probably the first place they would look, which ruled out Lydia’s place too. Somehow she ended up in front of Scott’s house. Vivian parked the car across the street from his house and just stared out onto the road. Was she crazy for coming here? It was reasonable right? There were only so many people she knew here and well since the fight with him no one would think of looking for her here.
She walked up to his door and was about to walk back to her car when the door opened. “Vivian?” Scott said puzzled. “Ah, hi Scott. I uhm was wondering if I could kinda hide at your place for a while?” she said looking anywhere but at him.
“Hide? Is there something wrong?” he asked worried now. She walked past him and entered the house, she looked around and saw it was very simply decorated. “Wrong? No nothing’s wrong, unless you consider I just got dumped by Abs right before I was going to tell him I was moving to London. But hey that’s ok right? I don’t need him, after all I’m some cold hearted business woman that doesn’t have a heart,” she said tears springing to her eyes.
Scott stood there dumbfounded, all he had heard was that she wasn’t with Abs anymore. He reprimanded himself for being so shallow and went to give her a hug. “What happened?”
“He asked me to leave, and its all Marie’s fault,” she said crying uncontrollably. “What does she have to do with this?” he asked as he led her to the sofa. “She told Abs I would leave him, that all I cared about was Silverly’s. But…Silverly’s has been the last thing on my mind these past few weeks. That’s why it’s been doing so badly, and he just assumed. Damn it,” she said. Vivian was now taking out everything in her bag in order to find her cell phone. Scott couldn’t believe what he had just heard, Marie hadn’t just made him unhappy but she had ruined it for Vivian too.
After taking all the contents out Vivian gave up and threw her bag across the room. She turned to look at Scott and noticed how messy he looked. “What happened to you?” she asked noticing the beer bottles lying around the room. Scott looked at himself and realized he hadn't changed since the last time he had seen her. He must look a mess and then all the bottles he cursed himself for being so stupid. “I haven’t exactly been ok since I last saw you,” he said looking away.
“I owe you an apology,” Scott said taking her hand into his. Vivian heard the sincerity in his voice and knew he was telling the truth. “I shouldn’t have said what I did. I’m kinda surprised you came here instead of going to Lydia’s,” he said picking up some of the bottles.
“Exactly why I came her, they won’t come looking here,” she said helping him clean up. “Why don’t you go and take a shower while I pick up,” she said taking the trash from his hands. “Do I look that bad?” he asked with a cheap smile on his face. “Truthfully, if anyone saw you right now they’d think you’ve been through hell and back. Now go before I bring in the lawn hose and wash you myself,” she said walking into the kitchen.
She had cleaned both the kitchen and living room by the time he came back out of the shower. “So what now?” he said sitting next to her. Vivian looked from the television to him and smiled when she saw how well he cleaned up. “Now I’ll lay low for a while until I figure out what I’m going to do.”
“Are you going to take him back if he asks you to?” Scott asked holding his breath. She looked back at the TV and just shrugged her shoulders. “I don’t know but I’m sure as hell not going to beg him to take me back. It’s his loss not mine,” she said trying to hide the hurt in her eyes. “Vivian look at me,” he said trying to get her attention. She shook her head and didn’t move her gaze from the TV. “Look at me,” he said more sternly.
With tears in her eyes she turned to him. “You really do love him don’t you?” he asked finally recognizing it for what it was. “Love? Uhm yeah I guess you can call it that,” she said softly. “Then why don’t you just go talk to him.”
She roughly wiped away the tears and shook her head. “No he’s the one that asked me to leave so he’s going to have to be the one to ask me to come back. And I don’t want to talk about this anymore. I’ve planned out what we could do tonight, we’ll play this game it’s kinda silly but that’s just how I feel tonight. We’ll watch Clueless and every time anyone says whatever, anyways, or rolls their eyes we have to take a shot.”
Scott looked at her weirdly and just shook his head. “Where did you get that idea?”
“Never mind that, I saw that you’re fully stocked with alcohol so why not put it to good use,” she said setting several bottles on the coffee table. “Wow where did you have those?” he asked looking around for the shot glasses. “Looking for these?” she asked showing him the glasses. “Now I looked at the TV guide thing and it says that it should start in about 15 minutes so if you’re going to eat then you better do it now.”
“We can get through this together Scottie. You’ll get over Marie and me, I’ll try to forget Abs,” she said with a crooked smile. “Can you really forget Abs?” he asked with uncertainty. Vivian looked down at the ring on her finger then looked at Scott and said, “For tonight it’s just you and me and a bottle of tequila.”
Two hours later they were both rolling on the floor from how drunk they were. “You look so funny,” Vivian said looking at Scott. They were both giggling like little girls, she had convinced him to switch tops with her and he was now wearing her baby-tee and she had on his shirt. Since she was a lot smaller than he she wore the shirt like it was a dress and her shirt looked like a midriff on him. “Ok so now the bottoms,” she said taking off her pants. “No how am I suppose to fit into yours, they’re like size nonexistent,” he said but took off his pants anyway.
“Oh come on Scottie you can at least fit one leg in them right?” she said throwing her pants at him. Vivian looked at him and started laughing all over again. “Haha you look so…hehe…look at yourself,” she said taking him into the nearest bedroom. “Wha” Scott said not understanding. “Dude look at yo’self,” she said laughing on the bed. Scott stood in front of one of the mirrors and started laughing too. “I look like a poof.”
“Yeah I know, but a very cute poof,” she said still laughing. “Did you jus’ say I’m cute?”
She nodded her head but then realized that the room seemed to be spinning too much. “Make it stop,” she said getting comfy on the bed. “Make what stop?” Scott said lying down beside her. “The room it’s spinning.”
“Well close your eyes,” he said softly. She did as she was told and sighed content that darkness didn’t spin. Scott stared at her she looked so angelic just lying there smiling. Unable to resist the temptation he leaned over and softly kissed her lips.
