What has happend to this one time hit musical act? Like artists such as The Wallflowers, Hootie and The Blowfish and Jewel, Collective Soul also has suffered from the Pop Music surge in the past few years and now find themselves bringing up the rear of the music industry. Adult Alternative music just doesn't sell like it did three years ago when all four of the after-mentioned acts were in the Top 40. The being said, Why Pt. 2 doesn't help Collective Souls chances of getting back to the promised land. It sounds a bit too much like Heavy which was reminiscent of Where The River Flows. Maybe Collective Soul needs to evolve as a band. Maybe they need another song like The World I Know (1995) but one thing's for sure: Why Pt. 2, is nothing special at all.
