Jamie had left the room five minutes earlier when Nick turned to look at Tanya. He smiled one of his georgeous smiles that he had been practicing at photo shoots for the last few years.
"Tanya....right?" Nick asked glancing quickly at her small figure.
"Yep, you're absolutely right. You know, if I didn't know better, I'd think you were gifted!" she said giving him a flirty shove.
"Hey, I am! What are you talking about?" Nick pooched out his lip pretending to pout.
"Whatever you say Nicky." They walked outside and once again Tanya couldn't believe how perfect the house was.
They stood outside for a moment in silence. Tanya gazed looked around uncomfortably, trying to think of something to say. She never acted like this around guys. What was her problem?
"So....um, how long have you and Jamie been friends?" Nick said walking towards the car. Realizing how uncomfortable Tanya looked. He wasn't doing any better. "What's wrong with you Carter?" He asked himself.
She smiled releived that he had started a conversation. "Well, Jamie and I have been friends almost our whole lives, but we bacame best friends about two years ago. Now we're inseperable. We both enrolled in a local dance class and the rest is history." Tanya smiled to herself remembering how quickly she and Jamie had bonded.
"So, you uhh, like to dance?"
"God yes! I couldn't live without it. Besides, it gets my mind off things."
"You wouldn't be talking about guys would you?" he questioned giving her a sly grin.
"Wouldn't you like to know?" she said turning to smile at him.
"Yeah, I would." He turned to grab some of her bags out of the back of the trunk.
There was a silence for what seemed like hours. Finally Tanya broke it, "So how long are you guys here?"
"For a few months. We have to go on tour soon." He opened the door trying to balance the stack of suitcases and hang up bags. "So, what room did you choose?"
"Weren't you listening at all a few minutes ago when AJ asked us?" she said giving him a sly grin. "Or were you too busy watching Jamie in those shorts?"
"Well, actually I was busy watching something else."
"Oh really?" She turned to walk up the stairs. "Anyway, I chose the first bedroom. You know the one with the....."
".....the blacklights." he said finishing her sentence. "Well, you sweey lady, are in luck!"
"Oh really? Why is that?"
"Because, it just so happens to be my room."
"Oh, don't flatter yourself!" Tanya said laughing. She gave him a playful shove to the side as she walked into the room.
Damn she's hot! He thought to himself as he followed her lead into the bedroom. He found himself wanting her so bad. He craved to hear the next word or sarcastic comment she would say.
He threw the bags onto the bed and she did the same. "Now, I have to get my bags. Would you like to come and help me?" He caught himself staring into her eyes again. The best part was, she was staring right back. It was making him lose control. God help me! He wanted to let his hormones go, but he couldn't. It was too soon.
"Sure, why not? Since the big boy is weak and needs a woman's help." She turned to walk out of the door. Well done, Tanya! Now he doesn't have a clue as to how crazy he's making you. That a girl play hard to get! She walked down the hall satisfied. She didn't want him to think he had gotten to her that quick.
Soon after Nick and Tanya had left the room and Jamie had went to take her shower, the guys all decided to get some sleep. All the touring had mad them tired, and with their new management adding 20 dates to the tour, they would need the rest.
AJ walked into his room thinking about how cute Jamie had looked in those short shorts. He smiled to himself remembering that she would be staying in his room.
Jamie had finished her shower still thinking about how sweet all of the guys were, especially AJ. She had always thought he was sexy in those "Teen People" magazines. "Why does he have to look so damn good?" she asked herself remembering her promise to stay away from guys for a while. She had let herself open up to a guy once and look what it had brung to her, a broken heart. I won't let it happen again! I won't! she screamed at herself.
After she dried off, she realized she had forgotten a tank top. "Shit! How can I be so damn stupid!" she muttered to herself.
She walked out of the bathroom and into the bedroom in search of a tank top. "I packed a million shirts and I can't find a damn one!" She was throwing her clothes everywhere.
"What are you looking for?" someone asked behind her.
She spun around quickly to find AJ laying on the bed, his arms folded behind his head and his legs crossed.
"Umm, just a shirt to sleep in. I guess it totally slipped my mind when I went to get into the shower." She was standing there in a bra and shorts, again. Except this time it wasn't a sports bra.
Damn Bone, get a grip. She's just a girl! He couldn't keep himself from staring at her. "Umm, here," he said pulling off his shirt, "you can just borrow mine."
She couldn't help but stare. He was so sexy with no shirt on. He had muscles to spare.
"Thanks," she said grabbing the shirt from his hands.
"No problem!" He flashed her a sexy smile. "Oh, and by the way, you're very cute when you blush."
"Umm, thanks," she said not knowing how she should react to the comment. "Well, I have to get some sleep," she said glancing at the clock. "I have to get up early in the morning and run."
"You really run every day?"
"Yeah! I mean, I like to stay in shape," she said patting her stomach. "You want to come with me tomorrow? It's okay if you don't want to, but..."
"No, I'd like to go...really." He smiled at her wanting to know more. He had just met her, but he longed to know more about her life, about her. I wonder if she has a boyfriend... "God AJ," he said thinking to himself. "Calm your hormones."
"Okay, well I'm going to set the alarm for pretty early." He kept staring at her and she couldn't think of anything else to say. "So, uhh....what's it like living the crazy life?" she said curiously.
"Well, it's hard at times. I mean, you don't have a lot of time off to spend with family and friends. And there is definately no private life.," he explained,
"That's got to be hard on you." She sat on the edge of the bed and fingered the velvet leopard print comforter. "But don't you like the attention. I mean, from all the girls."
"Well of course. I mean, I couldn't get enough of it at first. Girls following you around. Screaming your name. What guy wouldn't? But it can get way out of hand. Even a little scary at times."
"I can understand where you're coming from. Not personally, but I can imagine." She glanced up from the comforter, which had become the focus of her attention over the last 15 minutes. Her eyes skimming over his strong body and his tan skin. Damn he looks without a shirt on! "Wake up and smell the coffee, Jamie! He's not interested in you. And you're not interested in him!" her conscience reminded her. Or am I? "There's one thing I've always wanted to ask those crazy fans of yours," she said smiling.
"What's that?" He noticed her looking at his body and he didn't mind, because he was looking right back at hers. And those eyes.....he thought as the light caught them.
"I've always wanted to ask them, how they can say that they love you guys when they've never even met you. I mean, I've known you for a total of two hours and I still don't really 'know you'. And most of them don't even get to hang out with you guys for over five minutes, if that."
"I don't know. Maybe it's just our sexy bodies!" He said rubbing his chest and laughing.
"Oh AJ, don't flatter yoursel." She threw one of the pillows at him playfully.
"Don't start something you can't finish!" He grinned at her evily.
"Oh gosh. I'm getting tired." She covered her mouth as she yawned. "Well AJ, I really would like to stay awake and talk to you and your "sexy body", but I really have to get some rest. Six a.m. will be here soon." She smiled and reached for a pillow.
"Oh no you don't! You can't go to bed without giving me a hug!" He grabbed the pillow away from her and inched towards her. She closed the distance and fell into his embrace. At his touch, a chill was sent rushing down her spine. She suddenly pushed away, thinking of Jason. She could tell AJ tensed up.
"Is something wrong?" he asked touching her shoulder gently.
"AJ, it has nothing to do with you. Just some bullshit I wen through. It happened a while ago and I'd rather not talk about it at the moment." Tears formed in her eyes. She was trying hard not to let him see her cry. "I have to go to bed," she siad. Her voice weak, still trying to hold back her tears. "Goodnight AJ," she whispered. She turned her head away, no longer being able to hold back her tears. They spilled down her cheeks rapidly.
He grabbed her hand and kissed her palm. "Goodnight, my sweet lady," he whispered, touching her cheek with his hand and gently wiping away her tears.
"God, Nick. You packed about as much as I did." She grinnied at him teasingly.
He loved how they played stupid mind games, acting as if they were little kids. She just had a way about her. He couldn't figure it out. "I always pack this much stuff. The guys have always kidded me about it, but I just can't live without my clothes. They're like my manhood or something."
"Okay, Carter. That was more than I needed to know....really." She walked up the stairs out of breath. She was carrying three of the many suitcases Nick had brought.
Tanya dropped the suitcases on the floor as soon as they reached the bedroom. "That was a workout," she said falling on the bed dramatically. Nick laughed at her attempts to be an actress.
Tanya rolled over and hung her head off of the side of the bed. She saw the white t-shirt she had found in the drawer earlier. She had forgotten to tell Jamie about it, but decided Jamie didn't have to know because who it belonged to was no longer a mystery.
"This must be yours," she said playfully throwing the shirt at him. He caught it and smiled.
"I've been looking for this," he said.
"Like you don't have tons already!" she said sarcastically.
"Okay, so I lied. Sue me!" He jumped onto the bed causing Tanya to bounce.
"Do you really have to do that."
"No, but I did." He picked up a pillow and threw it at her.
"Nick Carter!" she said grabbibg the pillow and hitting him in the head with it twice. "Don't you ever do that again!" A smile of defeat spread across her face.
"You know, you're very pretty when you're trying to order me around," he said as he grabbed the pillow out of her hands. Not wanting to be hit with it again.
"Really?" A mischievous grin suddenly appearing.
"Well, yeah. Who wouldn't think so?" He became quiet and looked into her eyes. He moved closer to her. He paused before kissing her. He wrapped his arms around her tiny waste and pulled her closer. She rubbed her hands up the back of his neck, stopping when she reached his soft, blonde hair.
They kissed passionately for a while, but decided against taking it any further. True to his word he slept on the floor, as did AJ.
