Nick in 100.7 MIX FM in Tampa FL (4/18/01)
DJ: Here's the deal. People have been calling up all night long to guess the guest, that's been our gimmick here this evening... We're going to go ahead and let him talk, but we're not going to let him say who he is. Go ahead and give him the headphones over there.

Nick: [in a very soft, feminine voice] Hi.

DJ: Say hi- Aww! Such a cute little voice you have.

Nick: [very feminine] Thank you.

DJ: What exactly do you do?

Nick: [very feminine] I'm a thinger.

DJ: You're a singer.

Nick: [vfem] Yes.

DJ: What group do you sing with?

Nick: [vfem] I sing with a boy group.

DJ: A boy group? Which one?

Nick: [vfem] Um... [goes into full-on teeny shriek] 'N SYNC ARE HERE!! OH MY GOD!!!!

DJ: Don't say the N word. I was told I can't bring them up, actually.

Nick: Nah, it's OK.

DJ: It's OK? Yeah? I don't know, I heard you guys are big rivals or something.

Nick: No! We love each other.

DJ: Really? That's a lie, right?

Nick: Wait a minute... Rivals? You're giving something away!

DJ: I am? Yeah, that's true... Well, they know you're a Backstreet Boy.

Nick: Aww, maan...

DJ: We told them that part. They don't know which one, though. So here's the deal. We have another pair of Backstreet Boys tickets to give away. Whoever guesses right first, wins.

Nick: [in very low voice] All right.

DJ: Easy enough?

Nick: [vlow] Sure.

DJ: I'm going to pick up a line, you're going to say 'Hi, Mix,' are you ready?

Nick: [vlow] Okay.

DJ: Here we go. Go ahead.

Nick: [vlow] Yeah, what's up. Mix.

DJ: Are you there?

Caller: ..Carter.

DJ: Is it who?

Nick: [vlow] Does it sound like me?

Caller: Nick Carter.

DJ: Does it sound like him?

Caller: Yes.

Nick: [vlow] I sound like Nick.

Caller: Yes.

Nick: [vlow] You sure I ain't AJ?

(DJ laughs)

Nick: [normal voice] Well, dang it.

DJ: Are you going to give it away?

Nick: I don't know. You think I should?

DJ: Yeah... Well, who is this, first of all?

Caller: Danielle.

DJ: Where are you calling from?

Caller: Tampa, Florida.

DJ: How much do you love the Backstreet Boys?

Caller: I love them SO much.

DJ: If it's Nick Carter, and you're so sure, tell him something about himself that ...

Nick: He don't know.

DJ: He doesn't know... yeah! (laughs)

Caller: .. know???

DJ: Come on, throw us a little Backstreet Boys information.

Nick: Pleeeez?

Caller: Umm [mumbled] then you know it's you?

DJ: He already knows that.

Nick: Wait a minute, wait a minute. That ain't true. DAAAHNT! [buzzer sound]

DJ: What else?

Caller: He's a really, really good singer.

Nick: DAAHNT! Nope!

DJ: I think you have a low self-esteem.

Nick: Uh, I wouldn't say ... what else?

Caller: Umm...

DJ: I'm a mom. I can't help it.

Caller: You guys [mumbled] eleven years.

Nick: DING DING DING!

DJ: Very good! You're going to give her the tickets, then?

Nick: Sure.

DJ: You've won Backstreet Boys concert tickets, how about that? And they're autographed, too.

Caller: Thank you so much!

DJ: So now the cat's out of the bag. I have Nick Carter here live in the studio with me... Nick, is it cool if we take some calls from listeners?

Nick: Let's do it. Why not.

DJ: Hi, Mix, who's this?

Caller: Hi, this is Alison.

DJ: Hi Alison, how are you?

Caller: Great.

DJ: You don't want to talk to me, you want to talk to Nick. Go ahead.

Caller: Yeah... I do. Hey Nick. What's up?

Nick: WHAZZUP?

Caller: How are you?

Nick: I'm pretty good... Can't you tell? I'm happy.

Caller: So what are you doing?

Nick: [stupid voice] Uhh... Weellll... I'm sitting at a chair in a radio station.

Caller: Wow, that sounds exciting.

Nick: Mix FM.

DJ: OK, this is your big chance, ask him a big question, this is like the only opportunity you'll ever have to do this.

Caller: Hey, can I come to your concert?

Nick: Aww... I don't know, I think we only have a certain amount of tickets to give away.

DJ: Actually, we're giving away tickets on the show at the end of the night tomorrow night and Friday night.

Caller: But what about now?

DJ: You have to listen to win.

Nick: Yeah, you gotta listen... I guess... That's what she's telling me. It's not my fault, so don't blame me! I'm just a singer!

DJ: Yeah, great. Beat up the DJ. Thanks.

Nick: OK?

DJ: Let's grab another call. Hi, Mix, who's this?

Caller: Crystal.

DJ: Where are you calling from?

Caller: Tampa.

DJ: Ask Nick a big question.

Caller: OK, Nick, this is going to sound really bad, but ...

Nick: Oh God! Please don't!

Caller: How is Brian doing?

Nick: Next call please. Nah, I'm just joking. Brian... he's doing good, growing facial hair and living with his wife right now.

Caller: So he did get married.

Nick: Yeah, he did.

Caller: OK.

DJ: Two of you guys are married now, right?

Nick: Huh?

DJ: Aren't two of the Backstreet Boys married?

Nick: Yeah, Kevin and Brian.

DJ: Kevin and Brian.

Nick: Yeah.

DJ: Happily... You don't look too happy about that.

Nick: [tearful voice] ... because, I lost my chances! Nah, just joking.

DJ: You'll have plenty of chances. How old are you? You're young, aren't you?

Nick: Yeah, I'm 21.

DJ: Only 21, yeah.

Nick: I'm pretty young.

DJ: You don't need to be thinking about getting married yet. That's all nonsense. All right, Mix, who's this?

Caller: This is Kathleen.

DJ: Hi Kathleen, where are you calling from?

Caller: Clearwater.

DJ: OK, talk to Nick.

Caller: Hi Nick.

Nick: [very high voice] Hiiii!

Caller: What's up?

Nick: [very low voice] Wazzup.

Caller: Actually, I just wanted to congratulate you guys, because you guys are doing so awesome on the Black and Blue tour, and I went to see it in Fort Lauderdale and I just thought it rocked...

Nick: Well thank you.

Caller: ... I thought Millennium was really good, but this one was really cool.

Nick: Yeah, this show is... we're having fun with this one.

Caller: Yeah... What are you guys up to now?

Nick: What are we up to now? We're getting ready to go out and shoot our video for More Than That.

Caller: Really? Cool!

Nick: In like two days.

Caller: Where at?

Nick: In L.A.

Caller: Oh, OK.

Nick: Yep.

Caller: That's cool.

DJ: What are you guys doing to get ready for the big tour?

Nick: Well, we've basically already got everything done, we've already done the first leg of the U.S. tour, and now we're getting ready to do South America in about 2 weeks.

DJ: Wow. How long are you guys going to be there?

Nick: I think we should be over there for about 9 weeks, 8 weeks.

DJ: When you guys travel like that, do you get to see anything, or do you just work, work, work?

Nick: Mmm, not really. Well... it really depends on if you have days off and stuff like that.

DJ: Right. They actually let you guys have days off, huh?

Nick: Yeah, sometimes. (laughs) We let ourselves, you know!

DJ: Let's go ahead and take another call. Hi, Mix, who's this?

Caller: This is Claire.

DJ: And Claire, where are you calling from?

Caller: Riverview.

DJ: Didn't you win tickets tonight?

Caller: Yep.

DJ: She's been calling and calling and calling. She knows all about you guys.

Nick: Oh, really?

DJ: Yeah, probably your biggest fan in Tampa.

Caller: Yeah...

Nick: What's up?

Caller: Hi!

Nick: How are you doing?

Caller: I'm OK! I just wanted to ask, what's your opinion on the Napster thing?

Nick: On the Napster thing, I... I don't know. I don't really get into all that politics stuff, you know, I just do music and have fun. I don't care if people have it for free or whatever, it really don't ... I guess, I guess there's certain issues that are involved in it, you know, that artists have a problem with, I guess what, they should just work out something that's fair, you know what I'm saying, for everyone.

DJ: Right, right.

Caller: Because I go online, and like, I get like, I have an AJ Valentine's CD, where I have the first thing, where AJ called up for Valentine's Day and said, hello...

Nick: Oh really.

Caller: Yeah.

Nick: Yeah, it really don't... I don't care. I really don't pay attention to stuff like that, honestly.

Caller: That's cool.

DJ: Anything else, Claire?

Caller: Um, not that I can think of.

DJ: All right, we'll go ahead and grab one more call, and then we'll go ahead and play a Backstreet Boys song. Hi, who's this?

Caller: Hi, this is Amy, in Tampa.

DJ: Hi Amy, how are you?

Caller: I'm fine. I know this sounds a little strange... I'm a mom, actually.

DJ: That's all right, so am I.

Nick: You're a mom? (they all laugh)

Caller: I have a 9 year old who just loves the Backstreet Boys, and I was just wondering, did you guys go to any performing arts schools around here? I mean, the ones who are from Tampa.

Nick: Umm... I think Howie went to USF, but I think he took a couple... USF? Right?

DJ: USF?

Nick: Yeah - USF, here in Tampa. That just goes to show you how long I've lived here and ...all right! Anyways, yeah, Howie went to USF and I guess he took a couple of performing arts courses there or something... I don't know...

Caller: Did you go to the high schools around here?

Nick: I went to... I didn't go to any high schools. I went to Orange Grove when it was a junior high, I went to Young, and I went to Miles Elementary.

Caller: Oh yeah...

Nick: So those are the schools I went to, and then I kind of had to get out.

Caller: I have friends way back when who went to Young, so I know that one.

Nick: Loved Young.

Caller: So how do your parents deal with all this, I mean, are they really enjoying you guys, your success?

Nick: Yeah, I mean, they're having a blast. My brother is starting to tear up the scene now.

DJ: Yeah, Aaron Carter, right?

Nick: [stupid voice] Yep, Aaron Carter.

DJ: And what's he doing exactly?

Nick: Little squirt!

DJ: How old is he?

Nick: That ... rat! (laughs)

DJ: (laughs) How old is he?

Nick: Nah... Anyways, um, he's about... (laughs) He's 13.

Caller: Sibling rivalry.

DJ: I was just going to say the same thing.

Nick: I'm just playing, gosh! Give me a break!(laughs)

DJ: Little bit of competition... are you guys going to be big competitors-

Nick: Not at all.

DJ: Is he doing the same kind of stuff as you?

Nick: You know what? If he puts me to sleep, then I'll just lay in my grave.

DJ: Aww.

Caller: Congratulations. I'm really glad to see young people getting influenced in a good way by you guys.

Nick: Thank you.

DJ: Don't you have a sister or something who's starting a music career too, right?

Nick: Yeah. Leslie's already got a single out too.

DJ: Really? How old is she?

Nick: She's 15.

DJ: Wow.

Caller: Wow.

Nick: That's her song! (laughs) "WOW"

DJ: Is it really?

Nick: It's called Like Wow.

DJ: Like Wow?

Nick: So check it out man! Please!

DJ: Are there any radio stations playing it?

Nick: No. You should though, it's a good song.

DJ: I'll go ahead and recommend that to the program director, how's that?

Nick: It's good, it's a really good song, it's... kind of a *little* childish, kiddish, but she's got some really great songs.

DJ: That's cool. Let's go ahead... actually, I wanted to ask you, aren't you, you're promoting other bands, or something?

Nick: Well, that's actually partially what I'm here for. I'm kind of doing like a co-management thing with a group called BIK, which is a rock band out of, of course, Tampa, Florida.

DJ: And that stands for...

Nick: Born Into Kaos. But they like to go by BIK.

DJ: BIK.

Nick: Yeah, but anyways, they're playing Livestock. They're going to be playing Livestock really soon.

DJ: One of my favourite weekends of the entire year, I have to say that! (laughs)

Nick: Certain people like it.

DJ: Have you ever been there?

Nick: Nah...

DJ: Oh, you missed the biggest party.

Nick: Oh ... really ... Oh my God! (laughs) But they're a rock band. That's like my forte, is rock music.

DJ: Really?

Nick: I love rock music.

DJ: How did you end up doing the music you're doing?

Nick: Um, well, I've always liked, rock music has always been my influence and that's what I try to portray to this pop that, everybody says pop music, and we're classified pop. But when you listen to our voicse, we all individually have different sounds to our voices. AJ has a very R&B voice, you know, a very soulful voice. I have an edge, I guess, an edge, rock type of voice, and I try to bring that to that music, that atmosphere. And you know, Brian has a very mellow voice... and we all have our individual voices that we bring to it, that's what creates the Backstreet Boys.

DJ: Actually, I wanted to ask you something else. I've been reading a lot online and that a lot of the - some people are saying that the whole boy band thing might be fizzling out, and more girl bands are coming out and creating some big competition for you guys, and do you feel like that's a reality?

Nick: You know, the funniest thing is, I guess people don't realise that we've been together for over 8 years.

DJ: 8 years.

Nick: *Over* 8 years. I've been in this group since I was 12.

DJ: Wow, that's amazing.

Nick: You know, so that just goes to show that we were out a long time ago, before this whole boy band thing even started up again, you know what I'm saying, and you know, I guess we're just thrown in that category, and all we have to do is just withstand time, you know, until people say OK... we give in! (laughs)

DJ: What do you guys do to make sure you stand out from the rest of the group? Do you guys have any master plans, or solo careers going on, or anything like that?

Nick: You know, I think what we'll all do is just sit back and you know, decide what we can do to make the group better, whether or not it's a solo thing, whether or not it's doing more albums together. You know, we all have individual dreams and we all want to kind of do our individual things too, someday, and that might be cool and we all support each other in that, you know, and then we'll always come back together and stuff like that.

DJ: I also read something a long time ago, this might have been a couple of years ago actually, online, that the Backstreet Boys might be doing country music. Was that just some big, huge, weird rumour or something?

Nick: Nahhh...

DJ: I know, everybody's laughing at me, but I swear I read that on one of the websites!

Nick: We... I mean... Nah.

DJ: No, not in a million years, right?

Nick: No.

DJ: I didn't think so.

Nick: Like I said, I think the thing that's really cool about this group is the diversity in music and the types of things that we bring to the whole pop culture type of thing. I mean, we were classified, we started off almost R&B, and then we went, started going a little more mainstream, with pop, and now we're starting to back off and go back to our roots a little bit, go more, you know...

DJ: R&B again.

Nick: R&B, rock, include some type of rock in there. We like to mix it up, that's the thing that's cool about this group.

DJ: Who does your choreography?

Nick: Fatima Robinson.

DJ: Really, that's cool. OK, we're going to go ahead and play a Backstreet Boys song, Shape of My Heart, that's Shannon's favourite song, our promotions director, she wanted us to play that.

Nick: Play More Than That.

DJ: Oh, we're going to play lots more than that, we have 10 songs-

Nick: No, there's a song called More Than That.

DJ: Ohhh! We should play More Than That!

Nick: You guys got it? Did you ADD it? HUH??

DJ: Uh... I don't know. How about if we play it after this song?

Nick: Okay. Sure!

DJ: We'll take more calls, too.

DJ: (Intro to station, etc.) Guess who's here with me this evening - one of the Backstreet Boys is here, Nick Carter.

Nick: Aroooo!!! [wolf howls]

DJ: Our new favourite Backstreet Boy. Not that you weren't before.

Nick: I'm howling at the moon.

DJ: You're howling... is there a full moon out?

Nick: It's late. It's really late for me, so I'm...Arooo!!

DJ: You go to bed early normally?

Nick: No.

DJ: No?

Nick: Yeah, actually I do. Some... it depends, man.

DJ: Depends on what's going on?

Nick: Yeah.

DJ: No, but when you're on stage, you've got to be out until what, 2 or 3

Nick: You know, you got that club music kickin' right [imitates beat of music]

DJ: You like that, little techno vibe going for you.

Nick: Yeah. [in surfer voice] It's KEWL, dude!!

DJ: If you'd like to see Nick in the Mix studio, go to our website online at wtmx.com, again wmtx.com. He's on the web cam right now. Make a face. There ya go! He's playing with the little Powderpuff girl that we have-

Nick: "Powder Puff."

DJ: Powder Puff girl, yes...

Nick: Is it Power or Powder?

DJ: I'm not sure - Shannon?

Nick: It's Power, I heard.

DJ: Power Puff, that's how it goes?

Nick: Well, I think it's Powder, you know, because girls powder themselves.

DJ: Yeah... (laughs) And we're also going to take calls live if you want to talk to Nick. Hi, who's this?

Caller: Hi, it's Gina.

DJ: Hi, how are you?

Caller: Good, how are you?

DJ: Talk to Nick.

Caller: Hey Nick, um, my name's Gina, and I flew in with my cousin from New York, and I've seen you guys in Toronto.

Nick: Oh really?

Caller: Yeah, and I wanted to ask you, when we were flying in from Atlanta, I wanted to know if you know Dave the Dwarf from 93.3 FLZ.

Nick: Yeah.

Caller: We sat next to him on the plane.

Nick: Oh, for real?

Caller: Yeah. He said you were like the coolest guy on the planet.

Nick: Yeah, we did some really crazy stuff that morning.

Caller: Oh yeah?

DJ: What kind of crazy stuff?

Nick: We put him in a box.

DJ: You did?!?

Nick: We shipped him off. At least tried to.

DJ: That's not nice.

Nick: You remember that? I don't know. Probably a lot of people remember that here.

DJ: Yeah.

Nick: We put him in this little box, man, it was on the morning show.

DJ: And you mailed him out?

Nick: We sent him to the airport, and they, they kind of checked the box, and they wouldn't let him, get him put on the plane, because they wanted to put him underneath the cargo on the plane.

DJ: Oh, it's really cold in there, isn't it?

Nick: Yeah. They were really mean to Dave.

DJ: That's not cool.

Nick: Poor little guy.

DJ: Yeah... Any other questions for him?

Nick: *Squeak*

Caller: My cousin wants to talk to you. Hang on.

DJ: Okay.

Caller: Hey, what's up.

Nick: Wazzup!

Caller: I flew in also with my cousin, we were staying at my grandmother's house and we were sitting, like she said, we met that guy Dave the Dwarf and he was just telling us that he hung out with you, and listen to this though, he was saying he was going to get us into a club, and we called him, and he was like, 'yeah, I'm gonna call up Nick Carter, and I'm gonna have him hang out with us,' and I was just wondering if he's like even called you.

Nick: (tries to keep from bursting into laughter)

Caller: And he said that he like has your cell phone number and stuff like that.

Nick: Oh gosh. Dave, you're busted if you're listening!

DJ: (laughs)

Nick: You are so busted.

DJ: So not true?

Caller: I was just wondering...

Nick: Let's just say he's busted. It ain't true.

DJ: All right, thanks for calling. Let's go ahead and grab another call. Hi, who's this?

Caller: Kelly.

DJ: Hello, you want to talk to Nick?

Caller: Yeah.

DJ: You're on, man.

Caller: Hi.

Nick: How ya doin'?

Caller: Um, I want to know what year did the Backstreet Boys actually start?

Nick: When did the Backstreet Boys start?

Caller: Uh huh.

Nick: Well, if I was 12 years old, what would that be, ninety- ... I'm not good at math.

DJ: Let's see, '91... I don't know?

Nick: What's it like, '93 or '94? '94 I think?

Caller: Oh, OK.

Nick: I don't know. Something like that.

DJ: '94 was only like 7 years ago, because that was when I graduated high school.

Nick: Okay, so...

DJ: So before that.

Nick: Well, let's count back down! Let's see. 2001...

DJ: '91 would be 10 years, so ... '89.

Nick: 2000... '99....

DJ: Right? 12 years ago?

Nick: 12 years ago?

DJ: Isn't that what you said?

Nick: I was twelve years OLD.

DJ: You were twelve years OLD. And you're 21 now.

Nick: 2001, 2000, '99, '98, '97, '96, '95... I don't know. Gosh.

DJ: Wait, wait, 21 minus 12...

Nick: Huh?

DJ: We don't know.

Nick: '93. '93.

DJ: [to 3rd person in studio] Thank you! We have one smart person in the room!

(DJ and Nick are both laughing, the other person in the room says something in the background)

Nick: '93.

DJ: All righty.

Nick: Just goes to show ya, huh?

DJ: Do you have any other questions? Thanks for making us look dumb there.

Nick: I asked you! You were supposed to know!

DJ: Don't ask me, man!

Nick: You went to school, okay?

DJ: I'm just a disc jockey!

Nick: I didn't go to school!

(Both laughing)

DJ: You went to high school, though.

Nick: Yeah, I went to high school.

DJ: So did I, I didn't go to any other school than that.

Nick: I didn't go to school-school, I had to be tutored, but...

DJ: Really? How did you like that?

Nick: It was cool.

DJ: It was all right?

Nick: Yeah, it was all right. It kind of sucked.

DJ: That's pretty cool. That's different than obviously, not home schooling...

Nick: Well, it's the same thing, kind of.

DJ: Hmm, interesting. Let's grab another caller real quick. Hello, who's this?

Caller: This is Angie and I'm calling from Sun City. I'm at work tonight, and I have a comment. I'm a mother of a 9 year old who really likes the Backstreet Boys and Nick, and Aaron. She's a big fan of Aaron.

Nick: Cool.

Caller: I'd just like to say that they do a fabulous job, you know, with the image that they put out for the younger kids, and they're a very classy group, and I just wanted to tell him that. I just think they do a really good job.

Nick: Well, thanks, I ... You know, actually, I used to live down by Sun City.

Caller: Oh really?

Nick: Had a place in like Ruskin.

Caller: Yeah, I know a couple of people that know you, a couple of the kids that grew up with you.

Nick: Really?

Caller: I work here at the hospital in Sun City, so... Josh. You know Josh.

Nick: Yeah. Oh, you know Josh, huh? Josh!

Caller: Yeah, also Danielle Jones.

Nick: Oh, I don't know her... but anyways, yeah.

Caller: Well, I just wanted to tell you that.

Nick: Well thanks. Thank you.

Caller: I just think y'all do a really good job.

Nick: Thanks.

DJ: Thank you very much for the call.

Caller: Thank you.

DJ: Hi, Mix, who's this?

Caller: Hey, it's Krista.

DJ: Hey, how are you?

Nick: How ya doin'.

Caller: I'm good, how are you? Um... Hi... Nick...

Nick: How're ya doin'?

Caller: How are you?

Nick: What's up?

Caller: Um, I had a couple of questions for you. How did you spend your 21st birthday?

Nick: How did I spend my... I was at -

DJ: That's a good question.

Nick: Oh, goodness. (laughs) I was at Club Fun actually.

DJ: Really? In Ybor? No way!

Nick: Yeah, I was at Club Fun and it was a lot of fun.

Caller: So you were in town.

DJ: You were having fun at Club Fun.

Nick: Yeah, it was a lot of fun. (laughs) I mean... What?

Caller: Sorry. Go ahead.

Nick: No, no, you can say something else, all right.

Caller: Um, I mean, are you guys in town until you guys play the Ice Palace, or are you leaving, or...

Nick: We've gotta leave because I gotta go do a South American tour.

Caller: You do?

Nick: Yeah.

Caller: Pretty cool.

Nick: It's cool.

Caller: Okay, um, god, and what was the other thing... um, how do you guys feel about Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake getting together, do you guys feel the pressure of one of you dating a famous person, to get your name out more? I mean, like they do...

Nick: Ahh...

DJ: They don't need their name out any more, I don't think.

Nick: Hey!

DJ: (laughs)

Nick: You said it! You hear it first on the Mix.

(all 3 laugh)

DJ: Your name is probably about as out as you want it, huh?

Nick: But remember, I did not say that, okay? It was the caller! No... umm... hey, you know, to each... No, I don't feel pressure to do anything because I'm, I do what I want to do, I don't need anything else to help me out or whatever, you know what I'm saying?

Caller: Right. I just have to say that-

Nick: And it's not, and as a comment too, you know, towards all that stuff with the imaging, towards the whole thing that I guess that's all dealt with, you know, with that whole situation, I'm just here to make music. That's all I want to do, you know, I'm here to have fun, make music and that's it, you know what I'm saying? I'm not all about image. See, I come here, I look like a scrub, you know, up in the studio.

DJ: (laughs)

Nick: I don't care any more, for real, it's all about being real now. That's, you know, you hear everybody saying 'oh, gotta be real, gotta be real'... but it's, honestly, that's what it's all about, you know, you don't need to put on a front any more, and that's what this whole group is about now. We do what we individually want to do and we do it as a whole.

Caller: And I just want to say you're probably one of the sexiest musicians out today.

Nick: *gasp* *squeak*

Caller: I have your posters everywhere.

DJ: He hit the floor, what happened?

Nick: OH MY GOD! What do you think, Powder Puff?

DJ: (laughs)

Caller: Well, it's true. You're just that clean-cut image that everybody looks up to, and it's important. My sister adores you, she's like...

DJ: Don't laugh, it's true!

Nick: I'm not, I... What do you mean by clean-cut? I don't understand that.

DJ: You don't think you guys are like a clean-cut group?

Caller: Yeah, you've got that homeboy that I want to take home to my mom...

Nick: Homeboy to take home to mama. Okay, I get it.

DJ: (laughs)

Nick: Okay, that's cool! I can respect that.

DJ: That's a good thing, though.

Caller: ... you know, good looking kind of guy, but my sister is 7, she's like, the first time I see Nick Carter, I'm going to run up to him and I'm just going to give him a big kiss, I'm like, okay, calm down. She's only 7, but she absolutely adores you, and I do too.

DJ: Hold on, Nick's got a phone call!

Nick: Hold on one second.

DJ: Hold on, his cell phone is ringing.

Nick: Yo, wazzup dude. Yeah. What up. You... Where are you going? Where? Oh...

DJ: Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys, if you're just tuning in, taking a call.

Nick: Who? Oh, for real dude?

Caller: Busy man.

DJ: Yeah, busy man, you know, he's got things to do.

Nick: Yeah, we're like... I'm talking to my boys on the phone, you know, because we're [whispering] going to go to the other station, you know what I'm sayin', in a minute.

DJ: Yeah.

Nick: Okay, we'll be over there in a minute, aight dawg?

DJ: All right, he'll be over there in a minute!

Nick: Yeah, say... say what's up on the air, bro. Say what's up. Just say what's going on. Say it, dude.

Voice: [unintelligible male yell]

DJ: Yeah, you can hear him, all right!

(All laughing)

Nick: That's my boy, Brent. He's in the group Born Into Kaos.

DJ: Yeah, right, exactly. Do you want to talk about them one more time?

Nick: Yeah, I'd like to talk a little more about it.

DJ: Are the guys here?

Nick: Yeah, they're here. They're actually getting ready to do, go on-

DJ: One of our sister stations, 98 Rock.

Nick: 98 Rock.

DJ: They're gonna have them on over there.

Nick: They'll go, we're on the rock, WAZZUP!! I'm about to go over there and join them, get a little crazy.

DJ: 98 Rock, you'll be there at what, 12:00, in one minute.

Nick: Be there in a minute.

DJ: Get off the phone! (shouting)

Nick: So, anyways...

DJ: Not you.

Nick: Is that Spice? Over there?

DJ: No, that's not Spice Boy. That's one of the promotions people... Okay, now we're getting all confused and I'm losing control of my show, so I'm going to go ahead and let you go.

Nick: I appreciate it. Thanks.

DJ: I appreciate you coming!

Nick: Hey, no problem.

DJ: It's very cool. This is like the coolest thing I've ever done on the air.

Nick: Really?

DJ: I've never had a guest in the studio, ever. You're like my first one.

Nick: Are you serious?

DJ: Yeah, it's very exciting. Big deal!

DJ 2: We told her and she was like, REALLY?

DJ: I know! I almost peed!

Nick: Hey, we're just about to have fun. That's all I'm here for.

DJ: Well, that's very cool, I appreciate you coming back. I'm going to play your new new new song, right?

Nick: Yeah, More Than That. You are DEBUTING it!

DJ: Debuting, right here on Mix 100.7.

Nick: Right here.

DJ: And this is the one you're going to be making the video for.

Nick: We're making a video, it'll probably be on TRL really soon, so watch it and vote, [in pleading voice] so we can be number one, pleeease!!!

DJ: Call and call and call and call over and over again.

Nick: Yeah, right.

DJ: All right Nick, thanks for coming by, I appreciate it. You have a great night.

Nick: All right. Peace. See you guys!
