January 24, 2001 Concert Review

Ahh!! Tonight is the Backstreet Boys concert! You have no idea how excited I was to see the Backstreet Boys a second time on the Black & Blue World Tour! This time, however, I didn't have to pay for these seats. You see I won them from my local radio station. The seats were in section 433 row 2 seats 3 and 4. They were right by the stage!! My mom and I were going. As soon as school let out, which was at 11:35am because of final exams, I turned on the radio. The Backstreet Boys were supposed to stop by, have an interview, and give away two director's chairs signed by all five of the Backstreet Boys. With the chairs you go to tonight's concert and sit with the sound guys. You wouldn't believe who won! My friend Jennifer. As soon as I heard her voice on the tadio I screamed. She had won the seats and asked Kevin and Howie a question! Her question was "Did you get a scrapbook that my friend Sabrina made?" Howie said that they did get a few scrapbooks and there is a possibility that they have it. Then kevin said, :What is your friend's name?" Jennifer said, "Umm, Sabrina" and Kevin said "Sabrina, hmm, I'll see." OH MY GOD!! KEVIN SAID MY NAME AND THAT HE WOULD CHECK FOR MY SCRAPBOOK!! Ahhh! That is the coolest Backstreet related thing that has ever happened to me! Ahhhhh!! I LOVE YOU KEV! ::muah:: After that there was a lot of phone calls. Some with Jennifer, one with Shannon, and some with Barbara. I was screaming and crying hysterically!! Anyways, then I took a shower and put on my BSB shirt I bought on Monday night, put my buttons on, and placed my BSB tattoo on my forehead. As soon as my mom got home we ate dinner and we were on our way. On the way to the arena we were jamming to "Black & Blue"! When we got to the arena we stood in the line to get in with my BSB gift in my hand. The gift wasn't much. Just a box my friend Shannon made and some letters and poems on the inside. It's the thought that counts, right? As I was in line I noticed that the only radio stations that were there were Y-100 and Power 96. When I got in I gave my gift to the security people and they ensured me that they will give it to the guys after I asked about ten times!! When we got to our seats I saw how close to the stage we were and I started to freak out. Then they showed Kevin talking on the jumbo screens. When he introduced Krystal I screamed!! Krystal came out wearing a black robe that covered her head. She sang three of her own songs and a song that was sung by Mariah Carey. Krystal said that this was the last night in Florida and she wanted to thank her fans. Then she pulled out a fake plastic bone and said one of the Backstreet Boys's nicknames is Bone. I screamed out AJ!! Then she said it was AJ and she threw the bone to the audience. Then the lights turned back on and I saw my friend Jenny sitting in the director's seats right next to the little circle stage! Ahhh!! She is so lucky! I would have done ANYTHING to be in those seats! Then the lights dimmed again and I knew the Backstreet Boys were coming on the stage!! I screamed and my stomach started doing flip-flops!! I was so excited. Here are the highlights of the show. During "I Want It That Way" after AJ sang his line, he blew a kiss to the audience. Ahhhh!!! I love you, too, AJ!!! Oh, and during "Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely" I waved at Brian and he waved back!!!!!! It had to have been me cuz he was looking up in my direction!!! Ahhhh, I almost died!!! I also noticed how much Brian likes to say hi to people in the middle of concerts! I swear he was waving like every 10 seconds!! When they were going into the box, Brian went in first and when they showed them inside their dressing room I noticed that it was the same thing from Monday night, so it had to have been a tape. Oh, and when it was just AJ and Kevin left on the stage, before they went into the box, AJ said to Kevin "Beauty before age!" Haha, I love that!! Anyways, when they were on the little round stage Brian said "Can you believe Nick's birthday is in four days? Oh no, better watch out!!" I screamed. Ahhhhh!!! During "Time" a ramp from the ceiling came down and connected the little round stage to the main stage. They started walking to the stage on the ramp while singing. It was the coolest thing I have ever seen them do. They were walking, some were sitting, and all of them were interacting with the fans. I wished I could have been down below. The order they were walking on the ramp was Nick, AJ, Brian, Howie, and Kevin. During "All I Have To Give" Brian threw his hat to the audience. Brian must have gotten another hat because then he faked threw another one and then he said to the audience "missed the first one" and smiled!! I was like, what a teaser!! During "Get Another Boyfriend" Nick walked up from the center of the stage with a blue guitar!! He walked to the front of the stage and all the other guys surrounded him. They were all banging their heads like rock and roll stars!! After this a girl gave Howie her sparkely blue hat. He was so happy just walking around with it. After they said their goodbyes and they had all disappeared from the stage, AJ popped back up and ran to each side of the stage and shoke fans' hands. Then Howie reappeared and he told AJ something. AJ acted all sad and he bent his head, while heading off the stage. Then Howie faked kicked him and they left the stage. The show was over ;*o( Throughout the whole show a girl was screaming Brian! She reminded me of the fans in Rio because she was hysterical. There was also lots of sexual movements, especially by Nick and AJ!! Yeah baby! Nick shook his butt so much!! Mmm, mmm, good! ::scream:: hehe ;D
