Set time

Chickorita (hicorita): a Grass type, like Bulbasaur.
Tododile (Waninoko): a Water type, like Squirtle.

Aerodactyl
There is only one Aerodactyl in the game, but it is not that difficult to get. Catch a Chansey and trade with the girl on Route 14 to get it.

Buruki
In the town with the fourth gym, go inside the second cave and turn to the right and SURF. Go to the top and enter another cave that is there. Make your way around the mazes and talk to the karate character that is there. Defeat him and to will get Buruki. Note: Make sure you have an open space in your Pokemon holder.

Denryuu
If you want a Pokemon rumored to be a pre-evolution of Dratini (Denryuu), do not try to de-evolve Dratini. Instead, go to the route after Kickyou City towards the Connection Cave, and try to capture the electric sheep, Meripu. Let it grow to level 15. It will evolve into a pink sheep. Train it to level 30, and to get Denryuu.

Eevee
Use the following steps to get Eevee to evolve into an Umbreon or Espeon. Take your Eevee to the Pokemon League Championship and defeat one Pokemon with it. It should be happy after you defeat all of the trainers. The amount of its happiness will determine how it will evolve. If it is very happy, it will evolve into an Espeon. If it is just happy it will evolve into Umbreon. If it is very sad it will evolve into either Vaporeon, Jolteon, or Flareon.

Gold Gyarados
Go to the fourth gym and SURF right all the way. You will SURF in the water should see a Gyarados. Battle it, and it will be golden. Information in this section was contributed by Jacob Carver.

Steelix Equip the Metal Coat on Onix and trade it to another GameBoy. It will evolve into Steelix.

Heracross Go to Route 42 and headbutt a tree near there to eventually find one. In addition to Heracross, you can also find some Spearow and Aipom.

Ho-oh: There is only one Ho-oh in the game. You can find it on top of the Tin Tower, but you will need the Rainbow Wing to go up there. You can get the Rainbow Wing from the Radio Station Manager in Goldenrod City (Gold version) or the old man in Pewter City (Silver version).

Bellossom
Give Gloom a Solar Stone and it will evolve into a Bellossom. You cannot evolve Bellossom into Vileplume.

Lapras Enter the cave in the second city and SURF. You should be able to see Lapras. Note: There is only one.

Lugia (Silver version)
Learn HM06 (Whirlpool) and go to the place where you received the fifth badge. Destroy a whirlpoor and enter the cave. Go through the maze and you will reach Lugia.

Lugia (Gold version)
Go to Pewter City and talk to the old man. He will give you a silver feather. Now, go to the place where Lugia is located in the Silver version to find it.

Kingdra
Equip Seadra with the Symbol of King, and then trade it.

Lugia
Go to the cave nearest to the city with the light tower, or just follow the wall on the right-hand side while in the water. You will encounter two trainers and then a whirlpool. Use WHIRLPOOL to get into the cave. Once inside, you will see a small walkway with jump-able bushes on one side. Jump over and go up and right. Go down the ladder. You will be on an island with an item nearby. Get the item and SURF down. Once down the waterfall, you will see an entrance in the cliff and a ladder. Go into the entrance. SURF up to find Lugia, Use the ladder to exit the cave.

Magikarp, Golden
Breed the Golden Gyarados with a regular Gyarados to get a Golden Magikarp.

Smoochum Breed Jynx with anything that has the same symbol while looking at your party to get Smoochum.

Pikachu
Transfer a Pikachu from Pokemon Yellow into the game. It should have an item directly translated to "Electric Ball". Equip it to any Pikachu, and its special attack will double.

Pinsir
The only place to get Pinsir is to go to the bug capturing contest at the National Park. When you enter the contest, just walk around and capture one.

Ryhorn, Silver
Go to the cave where you go to get to the Elite Four. You should encounter a silver Ryhorn.

Scyther
The only place to get Scyther is to go to the bug capturing contest at the National Park. When you enter the contest, just walk around and capture one.

Siczor
Get the Metal Coat and have Scyther hold it. Trade Onix to another Game Boy Color and it will evolve into Siczor. Note: There is only one Metal Coat in the game.

Slowking
Equip Slowpoke with the Symbol of King, and then trade it.

Steelix
Get the Metal Coat and have Onix hold it. Trade Onix to another Game Boy Color and it will evolve into Steelix. Note: There is only one Metal Coat in the game.

Sudowoodo
This odd Rock type blocks your way on Route 36 (just like Snorlax). Use the Squirtbottle from Goldenrod City to battle it.

Tyrouge
Use the following trick to getting all Tyrouge evolutions. Get Tyrouge and raise its attack level higher than its defense. Then, raise it to Lv. 20. It will evolve into Hitmonchan. Breed this Hitmonchan with a Ditto to hatch another Tyrouge. This time, raise its defense higher than its attack. It should evolve into Hitmonlee at Lv. 20. Once again, breed it with a Ditto to hatch yet another Tyrouge. Raise its defense and offense to be equal and evolve him at Lv. 20. This hatching trick may also be done with Eevee (Flareon, Jolteon, Vaporeon, Espeon, and Umbreon); Poliwhirl (Poliwrath and Politoed); and Gloom (Vileplume and Bellosom).

Three legendary dogs When in Azlea town, go into the burned tower. Choose the path to the left, smash the cracked rock, and proceed forward. Do not drop into the hole next to the trainer yet. You will see a hole exactly in the middle of the tower. Drop down and walk ahead. The dogs will be on a platform. When you step nearby, they will run in three directions. The dogs cannot jump into Kanto -- they stay in the Jhoto region.

Togepi
Defeat the first gym and go into the Pokecenter. Talk to the scientist and he will give you a egg. After 5,000 steps, it will hatch into Togepi.

Breed without the other half
You do not need another of the same Pokemon to breed. Get the Pokemon you want to breed and put it as male or female. Get Ditto, place it with male or female, and let the breeding begin.

Recommended breeding
Breed Typhlosion, Feraligator, or Meganium. When they hatch, they will have good attacks.

Duplicate any Pokemon
Catch a Ditto and breed it with any Pokemon. Get the egg and allow it to hatch. It will not hatch into a Ditto, will result in the other Pokemon it was bred with.

Easy Pokemon captures
Get a Scyther that knows Fake Swipes and a Drowzee that knows Hypnosis. When a wild Pokemon appears, use Scyther's Fake Swipes to reduce the Pokemon's HP down to 1, then use Hypnosis to put it to sleep. It can now be captured easily.

Steel Pokemon weakness
Fire is very effective against Steel Pokemon.
Ghost and Psychic weakness
Ghost and Psychic types are very vulnerable to Dark. Recommended Dark moves are "Bite" and "Faint Attack".

Items from Time Capsule Pokemon
When you use the Time Capsule to trade with the older games, every Pokemon that comes from the Red, Blue, or Yellow version will have an item equipped with them. Some will just have berries, but others have better things.

New Poke Balls You can give Apricorns to the Poke Ball maker in Azalea Town to get new types of Poke Balls. White Apricorn- Fast Ball: Good for catching Pokemon that try to escape from battle quickly.
Red Apricorn- Level Ball: If your Pokemon's level is significantly higher than the wild Pokemon's, it will be an easy catch.
Blue Apricorn- Lure Ball: Good for catching Water types when fishing.
Pink Apricorn- Love Ball: If the wild Pokemon's gender is opposite that of your Pokemon's you will have an easier catch.
Black Apricorn- Heavy Ball: Big enough to catch heavy Pokemon like Snorlax.
Green Apricorn- Friend Ball: Pokemon caught with Friend Balls will become very attached to their trainer. Good for Chansey (if you want it to evolve into Blissey).
Yellow Apricorn- Moon Ball: Good for catching Pokemon that evolve with Moon Stones, like Clefairy and Jigglypuff.
Lightball- Trade Pikachu from the Yellow version. Pikachu will have a lightball for an item. The Lightball powers-up all electric attacks.

Blackbelt
Blackbelt can be found on Wednesdays on the left side of the Lake of Rage. SURF is required to get it. Blackbelt powers up fighting Pokemon.

Charcoal
Charcoal can be bought in Azaela Town. Charcoal powers up fire attacks.

Dragon Fang
Dragon Fang will be an automatic item obtained in Dragon's Den after you defeat Ibuki. It powers up Dragon attacks.

Hard Stone
Hard Stone can be found on Thursday on route 36. This powers up rock attacks.

King's Rock
Go to the town where you had to rescue the Slowpokes from the Rockets. Enter the cave where you got the Slowpokes from the two Rockets. Use Strength and push the boulder, then Surf in the pond. Find the ladder, go to it, and Surf. Talk to everyone there in that part of the cave. A Scientist will give you the King's Symbol.

Magnet
Magnet can be found on Sundays. It powers up electric attacks.

Masterball
Once you collect all eight badges, Professor Elm will give you a ring. Visit him at his lab to get a Masterball.
If you get the right lucky number for the Goldenrod Radio Tower, the prize is a Masterball. Metal Coat
Collect all eight badges, then talk to the Professor (the person from the start of the game). He will give you the S.S. Anne ticket. Go to the city where at the Gym Leader was at first not there. Go inside the house at the shore, the person will let you go through, and you will be on the S.S. Anne. You will meet a man that wants you to find his daughter on the ship. You can find her with the captain. Return her to her father, then go back and talk to the captain to receive the Metal Coat.

Miracle Seed
Miracle Seed can be received from a man on route 32. It powers up grass type attacks. Information in this section was contributed by Cambothugboy.

Monorail ticket
Go to Saffron City and talk to the girl copy cat. FLY to Vermilion City and talk to everyone in the house where you received the bike voucher. Someone will give you the Clefairy doll. Take it to the copycat and to get the monorail ticket.

Mystic Water
Mystic Water can be found in Cherrygrove City. After you get surf, go west and surf to the fisherman he will give you Mystic Water, which powers up water attacks.

Nevermeltice
Nevermeltice can be found in the Ice Path. It powers up ice attacks.

Pink Bow
Pink Bow can be received from the lady at the Radio Tower after you defeat the seventh Gym in Johto and clear the event that follows. Pink Bow powers up normal attacks. Pink Bow can also be found on Route 29 on Tuesdays.

son Barb
Poison Barb can be found on Fridays on Route 32. It powers up poison attacks near Union Cave.

Silver trophy
Trade an Omastar from Pokemon Red or Blue to Silver or Gold. When, you get Omastar take the item it has away. The item is a normal box. In your items, click on the normal box and open it to get a silver trophy. You can put the silver trophy in your room.

Soft Sand
Soft Sand is an item that increases the power of ground type moves. Go to Route 34 and look for a lake. SURF on a Pokemon and travel to the south. You will arrive at a beach with three cooltrainers. Defeat them and the oldest one, Kate, will give you the Soft Sand.

Spelltag
Spelltag can be found in Blackthorn on Saturday. Spelltag strengthens Ghost attacks.

Quick rematch
Go to your mom, ask her to switch to daylight savings time, then do it again. A trainer will then call you for a rematch. You can do this as many times as needed.

Defeating Ash multiple times
Each time you defeat the Elite 5 (includes the champion), Ash will return to the mountain.

Ecruteak City gym
To get to the gym leader Morty in Ecruteak City, you have to travel in the shape of an "S". Start directly in front of the first man. Then, walk to the top of the right trophy. Walk up to the old lady. Then, walk over until you are at the point where if you go up to the second old man that you will be directly in front of him, and go up. Then walk straight over to the second old lady. Finally, go straight up and you will be at Morty.

Kanto
Go to New Bark town. Find the water by your house. SURF right and keep going in that direction until you find land. You will then be in Kanto.

Female Mr. Mime (Gold version)
Go to Saffron City before fighting Sabrina. Challenge Sabrina to discover that her Mr. Mime is female.

Unlimited Nuts, Ant. Nuts, or Conf. Nuts
Go to the plant with the desired nut and take the nut. Call someone (it does not matter who), then take another nut. You can do this as many times as needed.

Unlimited chances in bug catching contest
Save the game before you enter the bug catching contest. If you lose, simply reset the game and try again.

Slot machines Sometimes you will get lucky and the following things may happen while playing the slot machines.
Four to Six Golems will fall down and each one will move the machine by one. If there is one 7 on the winning line and you stop the second reel, the second reel may change to a 7. The last reel will spin a few times.

Breeding Pokemon
You cannot breed every type of Pokemon, although some are male or female (like Mewtwos). They still cannot be bred together.

Clone Pokemon
Put the Pokemon to be cloned in your group, then deposit it in box 5. Save your game. Go to box 6 and save the game again. Box 5 your group will now have the two Pokemon that were cloned.

Unown Pokedex
First, solve the Kabuto puzzle, which you should know how to get to. The rest will require the HM for Surf, found in Enjyu City, TM 08 (Rock Breaker), and the HM for Strength. Surf down by the Ancient Ruins (below Kickyou City) and solve the puzzle there. The puzzles should be somewhat easy. Just put in the corner pieces first. Then, go to the Connection Cave. Walk around and find the Pokemaniac. If you have not defeated him, fight him. Then Surf in the waters near him. You will have to return here twice. Break the rock you find, and solve the puzzle. Then return, move the boulder, and solve the last puzzle. Catch the different Unown, then exit the ruins. Talk to the scientist near the cave and he will give you a complimentary Unown Pokedex.

Unown Pokedex
Solve one of the puzzles in the Ruins Of Alph. Drop down and catch three different Unowns and then walk outside. A scientist will bring you back to his lab. He will upgrade your Pokedex so it will record the different Unowns in the order you catch them.

Get phone calls
Once you have a phone number for someone besides Professor Elm, Mom, and Bill, go to your house. Go inside and talk to your mom. Answer "No" to the money and "Yes" to daylight savings time. Most of the time, someone will call you immediately after she is done talking to you. Do this again to get the game back to regular time. Sometimes the call will be for a battle.

Bill's backyard
To get into Bill's backyard you must first have Eevee, Flareon, Vaporeon, and Jolteon with you. Talk to him and he will say "Can I see your Eevee, Flareon, Vaporeon, and Jolteon?" Answer "Yes" and he will let you into his backyard.

Unown Music
