Pittsburg

The PHS crew team recently had a regatta at Pittsburg. We got are butts kicked, haha at us!

I woke up at four in the morning, took a shower, got ready to leave and waited. My ride showed up early (no pun intended) and we drove to the boat house. The coaches weren't there when we arrived and there was mass chaos with buses popping wheelies across the train tracks and kids getting hit by cars. We got on the bus and slept. When we got to Pittsburg, it was foggy, and cold even. The lightweight 8 decided to go for a walk after we unloaded the trailer and rigged the boats. We walked down the race course, which was about one mile, taking in the scenery. Part of the scenery consisted of keeping a sharp eye open for Adam, a bunny rabbit, and a Toobie we found by the side of the River Thinking we had time enough to lounge around some more, we began to walk back. We encountered Ryan Beach and Adam (we finally found him) running to inform us that our race was starting in twenty minutes! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH! We ran back to the boats and proceeded to bring our boat out. During this time, Joanna recruited me and Paul Dawkins to row in the Junior Varsity eight race; as if the Lightweight Varsity 8 and the Heavyweight Varsity 8 weren't enough (notice I stress the VARSITY). Paul and I had not left the Litton for more than ten minutes that day. It was AWESOME! By the end of the day, everyone was sunburnt (even me with my dark skin complexion) and miserable. Sometimes I fear that if in the unlikely event that I had left the boat for more than ten minutes, would I have encountered the feared event of finding Adam?
