PokémonYellow

Pokémon's 4th version of the game to date, Pokémon Yellow, has sold well over 1.5 million copies in Japan since its release. Including a number of graphical improvements over the Red and Green versions and a tweak in the story-line, this game has undoubtedly become an incredible success. The story-line follows closer to that of the popular anime series.

The first major difference in Pokémon Yellow is that you start the game off with Pikachu instead of getting to choose from Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander. You do, however, end up getting Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle from characters later in the game! Pikachu follows Ash around on the screen just like in the anime as long as he is one of the six Pokémon in your party. "Movie" sequences were added showing Pikachu doing a variety of things from surfing to flying as you find the HMs in the game. Gary starts the game with an added edge, though, by getting an Eevee. As you progress through the game, you will meet familiar faces such as Nurse Joy, Officer Jenny, even Jesse and James! There are other small changes in the game, but none of them compare to the looks of the Pokémon.

Even early in the game you can notice the superb job Nintendo did of cleaning up the looks of the Pokémon. Here are just a few of the characters that have gone through "make-overs" in the game. The towns have been cleaned up a little, adding a greater sense of majesty to the game. If you aren't too busy picking up your jaw from the graphics, perhaps you will be when you here this...

Pokémon Yellow is out here in the states! That isn't all though. You can also find a special Pokémon Gameboy Color and Pokémon Yellow package for around $110.00 And don't worry, Pokémon Yellow comes seperately, and it will work on any version of Gameboy. So if you're blue that Pokémon Gold & Silver aren't coming for awhile, try out Pokémon Yellow...you won't be dissappointed!
