1.  Try to keep it down to 2 colors.  Don't be afraid to experiment with more cause some of them work but not much.  (My deck has 4 types and runs very well.)

2.  Use trainers to get around your weaknesses bills to draw cards gust of winds to deliver a crushing blow, switches to keep your pokemon energized.

3.  Don't copy someone else's deck just cause it works cause all decks have a well planned strategy for their deck.  (Hopefully you do to.)
