Fossil Edition has arrived! The Fossil cards are here and are they HOT! One big difference between these and the Japanese cards...no Mew! You need to belong to the Pokemon Trainers to get this rare card to come out early in Y2K. As expected, First Edition were the limited run at the beginning. With a holofoil in about 1 in every three packs, you can bet it's difficult to complete a set.
Hasbro buys Wizards of the Coast
Hasbro toys has announced that they have purchased Wizards of the Coast. This action will move Hasbro into the Customizable Card Game (CCG) arena, an area that they've never before ventured. Along with Pokemon the Card Game, Hasbro will now have rights to Magic the Gathering. This will put some corporate sized money behind a great product.
POKEMON FAKES?
Be on the lookout for fake Pokemon cards. The easiest way to spot them is the 'light test'. Hold the card up to the light, if you can seel through it, it's probably a fake. Be careful on this, Pokemon cards aren't printed on the same paper stock as sports cards and a little light will come through from a very bright light. The fakes are on a little flimsier paper than regular cards.
Also, take a very close look at the copyright information at the bottom. The real cards printing is very crisp and clear, the copyright symbols are not blurry and are the same size as the copyright years.
