A Pokemon Experiment.

As of recently, I came across a webpage that expressed how he felt about pokemon, hence an Anti-pokemon site. He talked about how he 'tried' to burn his pokemon cards, but how it took so long for them to burn. After extensive tries, he finally got them to burn. Thinking that this was a bit odd ... considering that paper, and other things alike, tend to light up very easily. Keeping this in mind, I decided to ask a few people why that might be. Having done this, I came up with a very interesting response. Supposedly, pokemon cards have a satanic nature to them. The person who came to this conclusion had something similar happen. Trying to burn witchcraft books. They wouldn't catch, they wouldn't burn right away. And being PAPER it seems a bit odd. Especially, when it was a big fire. Keeping an open mind, I decided to test out this theory. About how the pokemon cards don't really burn, etc.

I took 2 cards. Sandshrew, and Diglett. I started a fire, and slowly stuck the tips of Sandshrew into the flame. After about 30 seconds, it caught. But, that lasted about five seconds. And the only thing that was actually burnt was less then a cm on the tip of the card. It hardly looked touched. I tried again. This time it took longer to light, and didn't even last quite as long. I continued doing this, until the card was half through. Getting kind of bored with the card, I just put in straight in the fire and watched it for about a minute. However, it didn't catch right away... and mind you, it was directly in the fire. I figured it'd take another minute and so I walked away. (Children, never try this at home) I came back about 4 minutes later, and it still hadn't caught. About another minute or two, it finally caught. I thought this was quite strange.

I gave up with that one for awhile, came back, and tried Diglett. The beginning results were quite the same. At this rate, I was getting bored with everything so I just placed Diglett exactly on top of the fire. This time, it took much less for it to catch fire. Though, there was still a considerable delay, considering how often fire starts before you can actually blink and spreads quite quickly.

I came to the conclusion that there's definitely something strange about these cards. Though, really, this is just food for thought and only an idea. If you have any other reasons that it wouldn't catch so quickly, let me know. And, if you have any comments on this 'experiment' email me at death2pikachu@insurer.com
