Venusaur

Venusaur Type: Stage 2 < Ivysaur Card#: 15/102 Rarity: Holo Color: Grass HP: 100 Weakness: R Resistance: none Retreat: 2 Species: Seed Lv: 67 Pkmn#: 3 Power: Energy Trans As often as you like during your turn (before attack), you may take 1 Grass Energy card attached to 1 of your Pokémon and attach it to a different one. This power can't be used if Venusaur is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed. Attack: [GGGG] Solarbeam (60)

This is one of the cool new cards that created a new archtype, Energy Trans. It was of course named after his Pokemon Power which makes him so useful. Let's take a look and some Combos with the mighty Venusaur.

Stats

Venusaur has a very nice 100HP, which is very good for a Stage 2. He also has No Resistance and Weakness to Fire which is bad. The double Retreat Cost is actually ok for a Stage 2 and shouldn't be alot to worry about since this Pokemon also has Energy Trans.

Solar Beam

Solar Beam is a little expensize, but yet again Energy Trans help that out. You can move all energy to Venusaur and start hitting for 60. It's good to be building up as much energy as possible while doing this because if Venusaur faints or if is badly damaged and needs to retreat, you need something to back you up.

Energy Trans

One of the most distructive combos alive right now. With the release of Gym Heros giving us Team Rocket's Scyther which is really cool to know, has made this guy better. You can Energy Trans to a Charizard for Energy Burn, (kinda hard deck to make though) and then use Fire Spin. Hard, but a good combination if you can pull it off. It's best to have Venusaur on the Bench while using his Pokemon Power and have Pokemon like Scyther, Pinsir, TR Scyther, or Chansey out in play. More info in the Combos section.

Combos

Not only can this card move energy around for powerful attacks, it can heal all of your Pokemon too. Put a Pokemon down with no damage on it and move all the Energy to him. Then, use a Pokemon Center to remove all of the damage and move all the energy back to continue attacking. Works great with Chansey.

Rating

I give Venusaur a 9.5. It is a really good card and started a new archtype. It has low retreat cost for a Stage 2 and a great Pokemon Power and a ok attack.
