The only thing that is really stopping this card from becoming so good is it's HP. With that in mind, lets take a look at Base Set Tangela.

Bind
<br><P>
Bind is a ok attack, pretty good for the amount of energy to use it. You can use it with a Full Heal Energy, Double Colorless Energy, etc. Does 20 damage and a 50% chance to be Pralyzed. Only  bad thing is that with the bad HP it's kinda hard to get him with 2 Energies without being killed!

Posion  Powder
<br><P>
Pretty good atack for 3 Grass. It does 20 damage and Posion which is good if you got Rocket's Instruction Gym out orfighting a Pokemon with high HP. This attack is like a mini-Haymaker attack, if I can use that term :).
<br><P>
Stats
<br><P>
The only thing that makes this card so bad! Two Retreat cost is bad for a Pokemon with only 50HP, plus, no Resistance and Weakness to Fire can make this Pokemon anything from a Smog to a Do the Wave a easy KO. If it only had 20 more HP! :(
<br><P>
Combos
<br><P>
Pretty good card with Energy Trans deck, also good with cards to keep it alive like Potion and Defender. You got to keep him alive to power his attacks and use cards like Gust of Wind and Rocket's Instruction Gym to take over! Just watch out for the HP!

Rating
<br><P>
I give Tangela a 5.8. It has really bad stautes, but it can be made up somewhat with Energy Trans which can make it faster when attacking.
