Chapter 2

About 3 years had passed since I last opened my Internet Journal. I was so busy I didn't have much time. A lot has happened since then. I have trained very hard with my pokemon. My parents are letting me have my own apartment, and I was very excited about thee opportunities. The once lazy young boy I knew had grown into a young man, and I was very strong. I had even had a girl friend, but things didn't work out for us. Who knows what adventures lie ahead for me.

Come on! I yelled and rushed my pokemon out the door. Today was the big day! Finally I had proved to my parents I was a responsible person. I had managed to raise my pokemon each up to level 40 and was quite strong myself. I was 18, but I looked very much the same. It would be a great day for me. I was gonna get my own apartment on the other side of the Island with my parents permission. This meant I would be Meeting new people, catching new pokemon, and getting more badges! I wanted to be able to qualify for my own Gym. It was my life long goal. I needed certain pokemon to do it though. I now had Vaporeon, Ninetails, and jolteon. I wanted to get flareon, mew, and mewtwo. And if things worked right my dreams might come true.

My pokeballs on the belt around me, I sat nervously in the back seat and looked out the window. The lone cry of a arcanine pierced the air. It was cold out, and I was scared. I had never gone on my own before. There were powerful pokemon here, and it was going to be a challenge. I thought to myself, I could take it. I will show them I can. I am stronger than they think!

The car pulled into the parking lot, and my parents went inside. I walked in as well. It was a business like building, and the air was cold. I looked around inside, and saw a few metal chairs and a TV near by. I walked over and set down. I turned on the TV. Young Trainer Midori finds rare pokemon. It was a news flash about a Girl that had found a new pokemon, A eevee evolved with a moon stone. She was really pretty. Then something else grabbed me. It appears she's going on a quest with a mew?! Maybe mew will lead me to other mews, or even better a mewtwo! I must find this Midori and talk to her! I thought to myself. Next an infomercial was talking about a new product that could let you hear what pokemon were saying. It was only a proto-type for now, but a big city like this should have a few experimental ones soon. I would have to check into this later.

I thought, I have a lot to do today. I should get busy. I walked to my parents and talked to them. I told them to page me when the apartment was ready, I was gonna look around. I went outside, pulled my jacket closer and walked down the street. Hey! Wanna battle?! Some kid asked as I walked by. You scared me half to death! Could I at least get your name? I asked. Shure, names Dustin. I like to train fighting pokemon. Who are you? Jordan I replied. I'm new here. I'm gonna get an apartment soon. An apartment? He asked how old are you? I'm 18. I said. And you are? 16 Dustin replied quickly. Nice to meet yah. I'll show you around if you need help. Dustin was about 5'8, has short red hair hidden under a cowboy hit. He wore a short, tan leather trench coat, jeans, and boots. He was the first best friend I ever had.

I laughed as we walked down the street. Dustin was a really nice guy. I was fortunate. So when we gonna battle? He asked. I said as soon as we find a place too, I laughed. You like to fight don't you Dustin? Shure do. Pokemon battling is life. I smiled. I wish I were as care free as him. I told him I hoped to become the leader of my own gym someday, It was my dream. I the time flew by as we walked. Before I knew it we was at the edge of town. All right I said. Looks good enough for me.

Hitmonchan, Go! He yelled as he threw his first pokemon out. I smiled, put on my shades, and tossed jolteon out. Hitmonchan, mega punch! He shouted. Jolteon use Thunder! The Hitmonchan dove forward and hit jolteon with a powerful blow of the fist. Jolteon, a little dazed, launched a huge bolt of electricity at Hitmonchan, and knocked it back. The Hitmonchan fainted. Jason had become my strongest pokemon, and was very powerful. But never the less it wasn't over. Hitmonlee go! He yelled. I returned Jason and sent out Kassidy. A beautiful site she was, as well as powerful. Hitmonlee sprang forward with a might kick, and Kassidy simple sidestepped and sent Hitmonlee rolling. She turned around, let out the largest fireblast Id ever seen, and left Hitmonlee running. Now our last pokemon he said in disgust. He tossed out a Machamp, and I sent out Misty. This one wouldn't be as easy. Machamp dove forward and let out some of the fastest punches id ever seen. Misty was fast, but he was faster. She was hit several times, and I thought it might be over. MISTY! I yelled. Don't give up! Use Hydro pump! Misty backed up, slapped her tail back and forth, and sent a beam of water twice as powerful as a fire hose. The Machamp fell back, but wasn't defeated. It sprang forward and punched a huge hole in the ground, a few inches from misty. Misty roundhouse slapped the Machamp with her tail, then blew it away with surf. The fight was over.

Man! He said. What a rush! I laughed. Dustin said, Your gonna do just fine here! I'm one of the strongest around and I usually only get beaten by Psychic pokemon. You're good. Thanks I replied. Beep beep beep! My pager Hummed. I pushed down a little button, and asked, Who is it? Congratulations Jordan! You have a new apartment! All right! I said. Come pick up the keys whenever you're ready, dad said. I thanked him and told him and mom I loved them. Dustin and me headed to the apartment building. I grabbed the keys, and Dustin carried my luggage. As I opened the door to my apartment, my heart leaped. I was a beautiful room. It had a small kitchen and bathroom, a living room and a bed. I threw my bags in the corner and put the keys in my pocket. YEAH! I yelled as I flopped on the bed. Man your lucky Dustin said. I wish my parents were that nice. Yeah I said. Don't worry they will. I flipped threw the rulebook for the apartment, and set it on the table beside the bed. This is the life. I asked Dustin to leave, and got his home address. I let my 3 pokemon out, and they explored their new home. I hung my clothes up, and unpacked my things. That night I drifted off happily. I couldn't wait to go explore the town with my new friend Dustin tomorrow. I watched the ceiling fan turn, and fell asleep.

The radio alarm clock woke me the next morning. I excitedly threw on my clothes, grabbed my belt and some money, and headed out the door. I was bursting with excitement as I walked outside to a very nice day. It was cool, but the sun kept you warm. I rode my bike to Dustin's house, and knocked on the door. Yes? A lady answered the door. I told her who I was and I was here to see Dustin. Oh yes, she replied, he's in his room getting dressed. Make yourself at home. I sat down on the couch and turned on the TV. The newly Discovered PST has been sent to pokemon centers across Neo Sky Island. Soon they may be available for sale! I thought I might go check it out later. I was going to ask Dustin about Midori today. I might even be able to get some new pokemon. I flipped threw the channels some more. News, cartoons and commercials were on as usual. A new pokemon booster product looked interesting, and so did a cartoon about a talking squirtle trying to start a band.

Hiya! Dustin said as he sit down by me. What's up? I said nothing much. I'm gonna quest for more pokemon and higher levels as usual. He laughed. What was you going to ask me? I told him about the girl Midori. I wanted to find out where I could find her. He said he didn't no much, just that friends with a kid he once new named Dean. Dean I asked? Yeah. I tough trainer. Has a gym now. Cool! I thought. Maybe he can help me find her. Do you know where he is? Yeah e said. In a gym at the north side of town. You can't get in without fighting him though. I laughed. Not a problem I said.

We picked up some breakfast on the way down there at a fast food restaurant. He showed me around the town. I was very interested in a huge pokemart. We headed in. welcome. What can I do for you two? I asked her if the might have any flareons for sell. She said no, but there was an eevee that someone sold this morning. High level too. You can always buy a fire stone. Sounds good to me I replied. I walked up the stairs and bought the eevee and a firestone. The turned him into a flareon for me, and handed him to me in a pokeball. This time the price was no problem. I had won enough battles to buy ten fire stones. The registered him for me, and I told them I wanted to name him Wildfire. I bought a rare candy and a few orange soda for my new pokemon. Dustin bought a x potion and a Ultraball. I let Wildfire out and gave him his treats. I told him I would be a good trainer for him, and patted him on the head. Kassidy and Wildfire got along very well and even showed him a few new moves. I was now even closer to my goal.

You don't talk a lot do you Jordan? Dustin said as he patted me on the back. No I replied. I think a lot. We were an odd pair. He was a lighthearted kid and I was a rather quiet young adult. We walked toward the Gym. I had won quite a few gym battles. I didn't want to be a pokemon master though. I wanted to have my own Gym, the master gym, and have my six-dream pokemon. Only 2 left I thought out loud. 2 left for what? Dustin said. I told him about me dream. He told me he wanted to be the worlds Fighting pokemon Master. You will do it Dustin. I know you Will. I smiled. Thanks he said and punched me in the arm. I know you can too.

We finally made it to the gym. He wished me good luck as I walked in. I pulled my hair back, put my shades on and walked in. Greeting a man d said as I walked up. Who are you and what do you wish? I wish to challenge Dean, the pokemon Gym leader to a one on one battle. As you wish. He typed in some numbers on a keypad beside him, and a metal door opened behind him. I walked through and it shut behind me. I was in a small room and another door was ahead. a slot said, please enter pokedex here. I put the pokedex in the slot, and a light came on. Thank you trainer Jordan. Please walk to the battle floor ahead. thank you. The door in front of me opened, and I stepped through. I was on a large clear area, well lit. My boots echoed through the empty space, as a nervously walked forward.

You wish to challenge me Jordan? A kid a little younger than me said as he walked out of the shadows. Yes I said, one on one. Very well. He said Go Ikarichu! Go Jolteon! Our shouts broke the silence as Ikarichu and Jolteon appeared. I shouted Jolteon use Toxic! Jolteon sprayed Ikarichu with a deadly poison. Ikarichu use your thunder punch, Dean said. Fortunately Jolteon wasn't hurt to bad, being an electric pokemon. Jolteon use pin missile! Jason launched sharp pins at Ikarichu and drained even more HP. It was looking good for me. Ikarichu use Earthquake! He shouted. Uh oh! I thought. I forgot that he was fighting electric. He pounded the ground and sent Jolteon rolling. Jolteon didn't get up. No! I cried and returned jolteon. To bad he said. Come back when your pokemon are stronger. With that he turned around and started walking. Wait I said. Have you ever heard of a girl named Midori? I asked. That got his attention.

Yes… I met her about 3 years ago. Why? I told him I was looking for her. I wanted to ask her where she got her mew, and find out what her quest was all about. I'm not quite Shure. Dean said. Last I heard was she was headed out to look for away to bring back mewtwo. Do you know where? I asked. No… but I sent her a charmander to the pokemon Observatory. I thanked him for all of his help and shook his hand. It was a great battle. You are very strong. He laughed and said thanks. I grabbed my pokedex and walked back outside to greet Dustin's smiling face. He kicked your butt didn't he? Dustin lightly punched me in the arm and laughed. Yeah. I said. But he gave me some great information on where to find Midori, I told him.

I waved bye to him that night as I walked to my apartment building. I had a lot on my mind. If I could get mew and mewtwo I could finally have my own gym. I was so close now. I had to find her tomorrow. I now had just about everything I needed. I had plenty of money, good clothes, an apartment, and great pokemon. I was so close I could taste it. With Wildfire the Flareon, Jason the Jolteon, Misty the Vaporeon, and my one and only Kassidy the Ninetails, I could take on anything. Or so I thought.

I woke to a very familiar ringing. Wait I don't have my alarm clock anymore. I looked around confused and saw the phone beeping. I pressed the take call button down. Yes? I asked. You Jordan, you slept in! Dustin said. Hurry up and come down here! He said. I got a surprise for you. Surprise? I thought. I wonder what it is? I got dressed and went down stairs and met Dustin. What's up bro? He said. I laughed. Same old Dustin, I thought. Here, I got you something he said. He handed me a box. I opened it to find a… is this…?! Yup. it's a PST. He said WOW! Where did you get it?! I asked. Ah it's nothin. My mom works at the pokecenter, and they got a few today. She gave me one, and I asked if I could have one for you. Thank you Dustin. You're the first friend to ever get me a gift. He punched me in the shoulder, ah its nothin. If you keep punching me in the arm your gonna knock it off one of these day. He laughed. Are you gonna go look for Midori today? He said. Yeah. I Shure hope I can find her. Well good luck man, Dustin said. I gotta go with my dad and work today. See yah man. He waved goodbye and walked out the door. I hooked my new PST to my computer, and let my pokemon out.
