Wurthering Heights Inspirations
by

Dorothy Fontaine

We met on the cliffs upon the rocks
in our youth.
With a splash of the misty residue upon our suits.
We kissed and loved as no two others have,
for our love was real and true.
It came from another time, another place far away from us now.
We grow old , but memories repeat in our souls.
We have dreams of those yesterdays before we are called to the grave.
Please meet me there again,
to feel the warmth of your lips upon mine.
To feel your loving arms around me just once more before I go
to another land.
As time goes on I still grieve for what we once had.
Still regretting what was lost and what was sad.
Your aroma never leaves my nostrils and your flesh against mine
is still real.
What is time?
How can it erase you?
How can it ever erase you and me?
We were young and in our own Paradise of youth, but now as we are old.
Those days magnify as we cherish every word spoken and
find comfort in the Truth.
That our love is deep inside, that it will never die.
No other can ever love me as you did,
no other ever will.
I knew you were my soul-mate from the first time I ever saw your face.
All I have now are our memories, my dreams of our past realities.
All I hope for now is to meet you once again as death passes through the door, for us to meet once more upon
the cliffs , upon the rocks.
please take me with you when you go
or haunt my soul forevermore.
For without you I am only a half of a whole and a sorry being on earth.
Without your love, life is not what it should be worth.
I pray for Compassion to end this grief and to have you in my arms once again.
I will wait for you. my darling for as long as it takes.
I will wait, I will wait, please come back to me again.
Promise me, we will meet once again,
upon the rocks.
