Abecedarius
by

Pamela A. Lamppa

A different type of verse.
Beginning to the end.
Counting out the rhyme,
Diverse as we pretend.

Encompass all the letters.
Free your mind and soul.
Gracious style and unknown verbs
Hold fast to meet our goal.

Imagination wild,
Jest not at this hard lesson.
Keys are hidden deep within,
Locking our _expression.

Mighty is the word
Nothing less than steel.
Ousting all the heartfelt time
Professing what is real.

Quiet gentle tapping
Resting on our brains.
Seeming less for how we think;
Tricking what remains.

Unveil in the darkness
Vivacious and with smile;
Whole and pure our ears adorn
Xylophones on twinkling mile.

Yesterday left us patient,
Zinging past our eyes,
All was as it never was
Building verse in this disguise.
