My hand upon your chest

Where your heart beats

I lay here in your arms

Peaceful in the night

So long I have dreamed of this

Two lovers united as one

Then basking in the glow

Underneath the stars

No rushing, no taunting

No hurtful words

Just love is shown

Love is shared

Between two souls

Too often hurt before

Lying here within your arms

My fears exist no more

I feel the love within your heart

As though I were inside

Your arms are my sanctuary

From this world

With the lies, deceit and unkindness
