About the Author

My name is Sandy Cabello. I was born on September 24, 1983. I'm married and have been for nearly 3 years this November. I began writing poetry when I was around 9 years old. I love being able to express myself through verse. At that time, I wrote what I believed everyone wanted to hear from a child of my age, so the contents of those poems were not true to my heart. It was not until I was around 14 years old that I began to write what I truly wanted to say. I finally was able to write my true emotions rather than mask them with happy verses that were just there to please my family. Now I only write my truths, I no longer write to ‘impress’ people. As I've grown older, I feel my poems have grown as well. My dream is to one day have my poems published in a book of my own.
