~Love is in the Air - Verses and Poems~

Sonnet CXVI
by William Shakespeare

Let me not to the marriage
of true minds Admit impediments.
Love is not love,Which alters
when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove.

Oh, no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests.. and is
never shaken. It is the star to
every wandering bark Whose worth's
unknown, although his height be taken.

Love is not Time's fool, though rosy
lips and cheeks Within his bending
sickle's compass come.Love alters
not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out.. even to the
edge of doom.If this be error and
upon me proved,I never writ, nor
no man ever loved.

"Keep love in your heart. A life without
it is like a sunless garden when the
flowers are dead. The consciousness of
loving and being loved brings a warmth
and a richness to life that nothing
else can bring."

Oscar Wilde

How Do I Love Thee?

How do I love thee?
Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth
and bredth and height
My soul can reach when
feeling out of sight
For the ends of being
and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the
level of everyday's
Most quiet need, by
sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely,
as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely,
as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with the
passion put to use
In my old griefs,
and with my childhood's
faith.I love thee with
a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints - I
love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my
life! - and, if God
choose,I shall but love
thee better after death.

By Elizabeth Barret Browning

"If you have it [love], you don't
need to have anything else.
If you don't have it, it doesn't
matter much what else you have."

Sir James M. Barrie

"Wild Nights! Wild Nights!
were I with thee,Wild Nights
would be our luxury.Futile
the winds to a heart in port,
Gone with the compass, Gone
with the chart Rowing in Eden.
Ah the Sea! Might I but moor
Tonight in thee."

Emily Dickinson

Heartprints

Whatever our hands touch---
We leave fingerprints!
On walls, on furniture,
On doorknobs, dishes, books,
As we touch we leave our identity.

Oh please where ever I go today,
Help me leave heartprints!
Heartprints of compassion
Of understanding and love.
Heartprints of kindness
and genuine concern.

May my heart touch a
lonely neighbor
Or a runaway daughter,
Or an anxious mother,
Or, perhaps, a dear friend!

I shall go out today
To leave heartprints,
And if someone should say
"I felt your touch,"
May that one sense be...YOUR LOVE
Touching through ME.

SOMEWHERE MY LOVE
Ray Coniff & His Singers
("Doctor Zhivago")

Somewhere my love,
there will be songs to sing
Although the snow covers
the hope of Spring
Somewhere a hill,
blossoms in green
and gold And there
are dreams all that
your heart can hold

Someday we'll meet again,
my love Someday whenever
the Spring breaks through

You'll come to me out of
the long-ago Warm as the wind,
soft as the kiss of snow
Till then my sweet, think
of me now and then
Godspeed, my love,
till you are mine again

Somewhere my love, there
will be songs to sing
Although the snow covers
the hope of Spring
Somewhere a hill,
blossoms in green and gold
And there are dreams
all that your heart can hold

Someday we'll meet again,
my love Someday whenever
the Spring breaks through

You'll come to me out
of the long-ago
Warm as the wind,
soft as the kiss
of snow Till then my
sweet, think of me
now and then Godspeed,
my love, till you are mine again~ ~
