Welcome to Unusual Poetry. Just think of this place as being inside Nirvana's video, "Heart Shaped Box." Or maybe think of "Edward Scissorhands." That's the dynamic I'd like to bring to this corner of the poetry world. Please note that this has nothing to do with the 1990's alternative scene. It's just a derived aesthetic.
I hope you enjoy your stay.
Here are some examples of my "unusual" poetry.
"Crinoline"
Crinoline green and tea
On a chair. House lit
With twenty lamps.
I’ll never leave this
House o Dickinson my
Sister I can relate more
Than you know. I used
To have a pocketful of
Diamonds but they were
Swiped when I fell asleep
In the shimmering crowd.
Now, I rest happily on
The leather couch wishing
For no extra breath or voice.
“Elegy for my Sweet Aunt”
Yellow candles melt like chocolate
in a dark room. Victorian bed
with a gowned woman, she lies.
There’s much cake essence on her
flesh. Oh the candied eyes. Ah the
cinnamon lips. Her death tastes like
Willy Wonka, only better.
"Transgendered"
Got a pistol in my pocket
Look how cute my curls are
I want some semen right now
I am the man killer chauvinist
hater ball sac remover
If it weren’t for men, women
would rule
"Persona: Witch Hunt"
Bubbles float
while I'm losing on
the bottom. I can
feel the pull of wanting
air, but Hell is
lulling me to stay
splayed here in bliss.
The last bubble pops
quietly, and everyone
claps with smiles.
