Confined and Inhibited
An empty space
Confined within the timbers
Of a forest incomplete,
Settled into unsettlement;
A posture growing old.
The hollowing of a whole;
An algebraic equation
To meet infinity at its gate;
The key to turn and
Collapse the stalwart effort.
A finger placed into a circle,
A void filled to avoid
The strands left seeking
Placement within life;
An earnest void to be filled.
Sanctuary placed into confines,
A place too small to elaborate,
Yet laid bare to encourage,
Though depleting in its way
Folding onto itself.
I can relate,
Relate to the motions,
Finding a transfixing notion
Spawning hurried senses to the light,
. . . the light now gone.
