Demons

I breathe the intoxication
So long sought after, and now held.
Digging deep into a tortured past,
To raise the windward sail,
A fortune in happiness to be found,
Reconciling thoughts so haunting.
Curling into my fetal embrace,
I watch myself grow stronger.
To rid me of the demons assembled within,
Naked must I lie exposed.
Telling all from the waters dammed,
Relinquishing my soul still burdened.
But, through it all, there is one light,
It's warmth entrapping my scarred mind.
Awakened to its radiant prominences,
My life just now about to begin.
