If Only I Could Have You
Somewhere along the line you grabbed a hold of me
And I do not know how this came to be
Just when I thought I would be fine
You managed to touch this heart of mine
And now I do not know what to do
When my thoughts lead me back to you
And I have to admit it caught me off guard
And to fight the way I feel has became very hard
But a part of me wishes it didn't have to hide
How it is my heart feels deep inside
But every time we see each other face to face
It is you that my heart longs to embrace
And I have tried not to feel this way
But yet, there's so much to you I want to say
But some things are better off not said
That's why I keep my thoughts to myself instead
For I know what is real and what is not
Regardless if for you my heart feels a lot
So I go on with my day with you on my mind
Trying to get this heart of mine to find
A place where these feelings do not exist
But the temptation I find hard to resist
When all my heart thinks about is you
And how it longs to be with you too
But this is one dream that I know won't come true
So why I feel like this is beyond me
For I know what I feel will never be.
