Narelle is a friend of the family from Church. She is also a mother of four and had had Madison a couple of weeks before Talina's birth. She shares her experience of visiting Talina at home.

When I walked into their bedroom Stephanie was sitting on the bed holding Talina. I sat next to her and put my arm around her and we sat there just looking at Talina and soaking her in.   I was able to share in the excitement as Steph shared her birth story and the events that had transpired that day.

I consider myself privileged because I was one of the few people who was able to hold Talina and have a cuddle.  It wasn't something I had planned to do but it felt so natural and so beautiful. She was so perfect and I stroked her little brow and her tufts of hair.  I treasure this as one of the most sacred experiences I've had.  It was nice to be able to say all those usual things we say when someone has a baby like,  "Doesn't she look like her brother!"  and "Look at her little hands".

Stephanie and I had shared our pregnancies together and when our Madison was born two weeks earlier Stephanie had come to see us.  It was nice to be able to do the same with my friend and share in their excitement as well.

Of course we also shared in their grief as well and that was hard to see but true friends are there through the good and bad times.

To Talina, I'm sure you and Madison were excited to be coming to your earthly homes at the same time. I bet you would have been great friends like your mum and I.  I'm sorry your stay here on earth was so brief, perhaps one day we will find out why. We will never forget you.

Love from Narelle.
