THE POETRY OF IDRISS J. SUNSPARKS |
||| GROVELLING AT THE FEET OF LOVE ||| POINTS OF TIME AND SPACE ||| SONGS ||| |
I know but do not act I act unknowingly I feel unfeelingly I taste distastefully I smile unhappily I yearn unceasingly to be with you My words for you And God love beauty pain and death The only offering The very ink of pen the very breath Of words worth being heard |
My blood is dancing on the page Becoming shadow dance of rage Of awe of contemplation Manifestation Proof I am alive Take the honey warm straight from the hive Taste if you love me This is my soul in words A manly plea Somehow not mine a gift divine Somehow fire somehow wine The proof of time Eternity in me My death And in marriage I die for words to be alive They die for me to be revived So many lips have I loved Oh! Layla So many cups gone dry In their abyss a drop of light reminds That only You have been the sight And in death only God and beauty should accompany the pain Only your face remains Unchanged in the rippling waves of age My love None other has been loved |
