Too Young To Go

the time was not right
for you to leave this earth
we didn't give up without a fight
but God took you right after birth

all those months we waited
the excitement, happiness, joy
not a thing we could have hated
to havea baby boy

i couldn't have been more joyful
for my sister, a mother-to-be
but that miserable day we were mournful
here at home, as you could see

i do not know why
God had to take you away
to that place up in the sky -
that was the price we had to pay

it seems i have been sad
for a very long while
but please don't be mad
in time, i'll learn to smile
