I was cold to you today
i didn't want to be
it was the furthest thing from my mind
it just happened
perhaps you didn't notice
i hope you didn't
for when you think of me
i want you to feel a warmth
a special kind of sanctuary
a feeling of contentment
a happiness that lasts for days
that is what i want you to feel
i want you to feel needed
to feel unique to the world
i want you to feel special
but most important of all i want you
to need me
because i need you
and i will always need you
not for a day or for a week
but for years
