The Sacred Cow

The high crime rate, ideological rivalries and arms race
Can all, probably, best be explained
As nothing more than psychological labor pains.
Over three hundred years the world has been accepting,
Or resisting acceptance of, a new value system.
The family as we know it will be ripped apart,
The birth of individuality will give us a new start.

Lets build the world again,
Where blood is not thick but thin,
No nations, no factions, no rivalries,
Every person a separate entity
Knowing what has to be done,
Doing what's best for everyone.

Whenever we all carry inside the means
To govern ourselves and execute moral restraint
The face of the world will dramatically change.
For jails, prisons, even police there will be little need.
There will be a shift in the manufacturing pool
From weapons of destruction to life giving tools.
The media will change from mass entertaining us
To people interrelating on a global basis.
A new emphasis in education
Will be from commercial to moral inspiration.

Lets build the world again,
Where blood is not thick but thin,
No nations, no factions, no rivalries,
Every person a separate entity
Knowing what has to be done,
Doing what's best for everyone.

It'll be ruin or exaltation.
I think you know by now
What I'm talking about is the sacred cow;
We achieve universal spiritual freedom,
Or we will be reduced to a gang of heathens.
Human passions of vanity, greed, and envy
Will someday soon, I still believe,
Be overwhelmed by those higher emotions
Of respect, mercy, and compassion.
May a world of unhappiness and discontentment
Give way to a people with a Life commitment.
