Police and Justice

The worst thing wrong with the police is that
They are not trained to stop crime in the act,
They’re hired to catch criminals after the fact.
I imagine if they came upon a woman under attack
They would tap their foot and turn their back,
Wait for an attempt to become a success
So they could charge him with a “rape in progress.”

Have you ever noticed in the paper
Of the crimes committed that are major,
It’s usually ex-convicts not first offenders?
A kid goes to prison for something petty and simple,
A man comes out a hardened criminal.
Isn’t it an ironic twist
That the justice system works like this,
Taking the young and restless
And turning them into embittered sadists?
Prison is a hate breeding factory
Providing police with job security.

Women are behind bars serving time
Mostly for non-violent crimes,
Or violent crimes of passion.
They’ve been wronged by someone,
So they wrong back with aggression.
We make them pay restitution
By suffering in those wicked institutions.

With this problem we need to take
The bull by the horns and correct the mistake.
Non-violent offenders should be allowed to go home,
So they can pay back their debt and their life can go on.
Violent offenders should be treated as troubled people,
Locked in separate homes for each individual,
Where they can relate with friends and family
And learn to live a life with dignity.
Police should be guaranteed high pay
To block crime from ever happening.
